I would use it in the end 4-12 minutes or inbetween. It even reduces edema that prior formed in hot water. The skin compresses while the inside tissue still expands.
Makes sense. I think heat may promote blisters. Until recently I was using warm water (which gradually cools during a session) supplemented my an electric heat pad wrapped around the cylinder to keep things warm. Even though I was using a condom with baby powder on the glans, I still got an occasional blister. I stopped using the heat pad and just let things cool naturally during the session and presto no more blisters.
On the question of blisters, I dynamically (cyclically) pump in the range 3 - 12” Hg for a session length of normally 60 mins but up to 90 mins and only stop when soreness starts to creep in
