Depends what your’e doing ! Modemmer and I have had this chat about Baby Oil before.
The important caveat is this:
IF you are using your tube "bare", then the baby oil is probably almost "safe", as long as you don’t use so much that it get’s sucked up into the pump ! If it does, then your seals inside the pump will be rotted eventually, so it’s really safer IMHO to use a water-based lube, as recommended by Thunder, Avocet, and others. This won’t damage your seals or the pump at all - zero risk. Durex (at https://www.durex.com ) state categorically that baby oil will destroy latex; OK ! I know most of us are not actually using rubbers here, but there is a risk of contamination, given what you say about jumping your girl while still pumped (Good for you!)
BUT the second scenario is different: I mostly use the rubber "seals" provided by my pump seller. These fit over the base of the tube to give a good vacuum seal between (a) your cock and the bottom of the tube, and (b) your body and the tube.
As you are obviously young and hung (!), you probably don’t need to use the seals. But I find (being old - and not hung anymore!), and, as I’m fighting diabetes, I sometimes need the seals to start off, even to get enough vacuum to start. When starting pumping my cock get’s sucked in so deliciously (!) through the seal, and then with more pumping it starts to firm up etc etc. If I am able to "go in hard", and sometimes I do, I then find it’s hard to stop myself from cumming, so it’s a bit of a mixed blessing (Be sure to read Avocet8’s pumping 101 notes - if you havent done already). He recommends a glycering based lube, which I heartily endorse. Yes! I agree to go in hard IF you can; though I’m only a newbie at this. My experience is that I DO get a quicker result if I can go in hard, but the risk of a blister is also greater. Also, I find that my tube get’s "packed" too quickly then, which is not really what I want to happen. Because I’m diabetic, I need to suck in the blood, let it out and repeat, and I can’t do that when I’m hard !
Because I’m blessed with still having a nice foreskin, I had major problems when I started pumping due to the dearth of information on details - just like you say. I experimented a deal with different lubes. Taking Avocet’s advice, I tried everything, but found that pure glycerine from the drugstore pharmacy works a treat. I don’t think it has any adverse effects, (I posted asking for feedback - no one answered negatively), and it’s dirt cheap, as well as cleaner because you can just wash up after and it simply disappears. Not so with baby oil ! Now, please don’t get me wrong: I just love baby oil for wanking (jerking-off), or general play lube, (not so necessary for us uncut guys though!), and it’s really great stuff. BUT it does NOT mix with any rubber products - or at least so Durex would have us believe. Just recently I got "Astroglide" which seems to be marketed by Durex in the UK, and it too is great, but pricey.
I think Avocet hits the nail, when he says, it’s important to be able to have a clear view when pumping, so as not to get red spots or whatever; you need to be able to SEE what’s happening, of like me, your cock just about touches the top of the tube when fully pumped, we don’t want any unnecessary damage, - Do We ???
Take Care !
Please let’s know how you get on !
