Buying my first pump and need some help

Ok I’ve read all the posts (fortunately and unfortunately this forum doesn’t move too heavily), but am still really confused.

I’m 6.5bpel x 4.5eg so should I go for a 1.5” tube or a 2” tube? I’m about 1-1.25” wide, does that matter?

Also, what is the preferred brand around here? I’d like one with a meter that reads Hg’s as most of the routines here say to use x hg’s for so many minutes per set.

Appreciate any help, I’d like to keep it under 200 bucks, and obviously the ones at the local sex shop are useless and not helpful at all. Do all pumps come with the option to replace the tube? I hear a lot of “almost filling up the tube” so this might be something I want to invest in.

Last but not least - shipping. I’m living with my dad and using his mailing address while I get my house built so a discreet box would be best, and I’m hoping it doesn’t read “BIG BOB’S PENIS PUMPS” on the return address.

Can you describe the box you got it in? Was it discreet?

Thanks guys, you all rule. I’ve had to take a break on the jelquing / squeezing due to all day training at work (usually do 5 or so squeezes around lunch so I can get a 2x a day regimin in there) and moving around where I sleep at night (due to relatives coming in and out of town where I’m staying).

I checked out the size guide on cockpump.com, and I like the product for 139 since it has a guage on it, but one thing - it says it’s a PSI guage!

Someone mentioned that psi and hg are very different? Are they? Would this one be ok to buy?

They have plain box shipping, that’s a good thing :)

nigret;

Not to worry. LA Pump ships in a very discreet box. As I recall the word “pump” doesn’t even appear in the return address.

Be optimistic and buy the 10” length tube. As for diameter, the 2” wide one might not give you as good a seal as the smaller one. You can always move up to the next size when you need to. (Yes, the hose coupling fits into all their tube sizes.)

Have fun and let us know how it goes.

Thanks guys, that helps :) I think I’m going to get the 1.5” tube as the size meter says that for 4.75 girth it’s the best fit (and me being .25 under that means it will be fine).

This is something I think I can get used to using each day.

At first I started doing manual stretches (for 20 seconds, I now do them for 30 seconds) up down left right out and cranked it all around, then jelqued for 100 strokes (3 sec). I now do 5 squeezes (want to squeeze 5 times at 20 seconds before moving to 10, squeezes are intense!) and 50 jelqs with the stretches mostly since it got boring and it was hard to keep an adequate erection to get an effective session.

I’m hoping a pump will fix this, I know I’ll enjoy seeing my boy grow a bit larger, and the added pump will allow me to jelq and do squeezes more effectively, even if I’m doing a bit softer when I start.

Thanks guys!

One other question, I hear going in erect is the best so you get the least amount of lymphatic (is that it?) fluid built up, that true?

Also, if I were to get pumped and be a little swelled, if my girl wanted to jump on me right there, would the pump stay and give me a lil extra girth? I keep hearing that “it doesn’t translate” but common sense seems to make one think it would?

Appreciate the help, I’ll post any gains in a few months, I’d be happy with 1” and very happy with 1.5”.

nigret

i just bought one no one will no what it is.

i got the 1.5x9 tube and my girth is 4 5/8 i have only pumped once and it seemed to work ok as long as you lube you dick and bottom of the pump up good.

i really enjoyed my first pump and i think you will to, make sure to stay active on this forum cause i would like to hear more of you results seeing as we are starting at close to the same time and with about the same size.

Jelq4Life

Yeah definitely. I use vit E johnson&johnson baby oil to jelq, will that work with this pump? I believe I heard that baby oil was not good with latex base covers, if this one is all glass/plastic, is baby oil ok?

After carefully thinking about saving up a year or two for surgery (figure if I don’t have the gains I want by then I’d do it), I was pondering the “stretch a thin rope” arguement. Unless the ligs grow with girth (which I don’t think they do?), then hanging wouldn’t be affected? I’m hoping that’s the case at any rate, privacy and time only allow girth workouts since hanging is time prohibitive. Either way I guess I’ll know when I start to hang in a few months ;)

The pump is on the way via 2 day shipping, it was just a couple of dollars more than 3 day, which was just a few more than the next down, etc… Funny how UPS tricks ya like that, it’s a weekend anywho, not like it’ll matter :D

nigret;

Baby oil is fine, that is what I have been using for the last 2 1/2 months.

Hi Nigret !

1. I tried to email you: if you did not receive it, please email me when you have time OK ?

2. If you refer to the posts (higher up) on this board, titled “my first pump” started by Jelq4Life (I think), you will find that I put up some data which might help you. I also see that my English Compatriot (Longtimer rrrrr) has added a post which makes what I tried to say clumsily, much clearer !

Like to hear from you M8 !
Good Luck !

NIGRET:

With due respect to Modemmer, who is both helpful and knowledgeable, thus commanding our greatest RESPECT !

Depends what your’e doing ! Modemmer and I have had this chat about Baby Oil before.

The important caveat is this:
IF you are using your tube "bare", then the baby oil is probably almost "safe", as long as you don’t use so much that it get’s sucked up into the pump ! If it does, then your seals inside the pump will be rotted eventually, so it’s really safer IMHO to use a water-based lube, as recommended by Thunder, Avocet, and others. This won’t damage your seals or the pump at all - zero risk. Durex (at https://www.durex.com ) state categorically that baby oil will destroy latex; OK ! I know most of us are not actually using rubbers here, but there is a risk of contamination, given what you say about jumping your girl while still pumped (Good for you!)

BUT the second scenario is different: I mostly use the rubber "seals" provided by my pump seller. These fit over the base of the tube to give a good vacuum seal between (a) your cock and the bottom of the tube, and (b) your body and the tube.
As you are obviously young and hung (!), you probably don’t need to use the seals. But I find (being old - and not hung anymore!), and, as I’m fighting diabetes, I sometimes need the seals to start off, even to get enough vacuum to start. When starting pumping my cock get’s sucked in so deliciously (!) through the seal, and then with more pumping it starts to firm up etc etc. If I am able to "go in hard", and sometimes I do, I then find it’s hard to stop myself from cumming, so it’s a bit of a mixed blessing (Be sure to read Avocet8’s pumping 101 notes - if you havent done already). He recommends a glycering based lube, which I heartily endorse. Yes! I agree to go in hard IF you can; though I’m only a newbie at this. My experience is that I DO get a quicker result if I can go in hard, but the risk of a blister is also greater. Also, I find that my tube get’s "packed" too quickly then, which is not really what I want to happen. Because I’m diabetic, I need to suck in the blood, let it out and repeat, and I can’t do that when I’m hard !

Because I’m blessed with still having a nice foreskin, I had major problems when I started pumping due to the dearth of information on details - just like you say. I experimented a deal with different lubes. Taking Avocet’s advice, I tried everything, but found that pure glycerine from the drugstore pharmacy works a treat. I don’t think it has any adverse effects, (I posted asking for feedback - no one answered negatively), and it’s dirt cheap, as well as cleaner because you can just wash up after and it simply disappears. Not so with baby oil ! Now, please don’t get me wrong: I just love baby oil for wanking (jerking-off), or general play lube, (not so necessary for us uncut guys though!), and it’s really great stuff. BUT it does NOT mix with any rubber products - or at least so Durex would have us believe. Just recently I got "Astroglide" which seems to be marketed by Durex in the UK, and it too is great, but pricey.
I think Avocet hits the nail, when he says, it’s important to be able to have a clear view when pumping, so as not to get red spots or whatever; you need to be able to SEE what’s happening, of like me, your cock just about touches the top of the tube when fully pumped, we don’t want any unnecessary damage, - Do We ???

Take Care !
Please let’s know how you get on !

modest,

Thanks for the compliment and also pointing out what I should have added. Yes if you are bare tubing it then its fine. But baby oil and latex does not mix well, so in that case pick your lube well.

This is to modest… I’m starting a foreskin routine and been on it now for a week. I’m using T-Tape with strap and weight. I plan to have my foreskin back in a year or two. I post some links in the links section to some support groups for others that are looking to do the same!

Hi J4L !

Yep ! KY is OK.
It has one big advantage, it does not run all over the place like the liquid lubes do, BUT I find it tends to be expensive. Probably not compared with the “fancy stuff” I was talking about earlier, but it certainly is compared with just plain pharmacy quality glycerine, but of course that has no perfume or other bits and pieces in it, - IF you want that sort of thing; neither does KY.

I did quite a bit of research on this question, and although I would firmly agree with KY as a choice, the cost puts me off ! I believe there are “in house” brands, (other than J & J) here in the UK, the Boots Pure Drug Company (Nottingham), now owned I believe by Woolworth Group do their own brand, but I’m not sure if it any cheaper.

Take Care !
