Surprisingly it is very quiet. You can make it softer than a whisper by placing a linen or such over it. As long as it can get decent ventilation your good to go. I have owned both the Vacu-tech and Kaplan pumps in the past and those are crazy loud! Unless you live by yourself in a well insulated house, forget it. The CTC is a whole different world and experience. I own two of them. Letting the newer one go. Too much equipment laying around and need to generate some cash for other toys for the lady of the house. ;)

“I’ve owned my DP-4000 for about a year. And it does everything it’s supposed to - but it’s so noisy. To try to make a long story short, I p.e. in stealth, hiding it from my wife of 33 yrs. And because she’s 5 years into recovering from a MAJOR illness we sleep in separate bedrooms, approx 50 feet apart. I always do my p.e. work early in the a.m., and my DP-4000 is just so darn noisy that I never use it. I get by with the Harbor Freight type hand pumps, but the DP-4000 costs too much for me to feel good leaving it on the shelf. I wish I could figure out how to quiet the thing down”.

I guess it depends on what you mean by noisy.

True. With a fan or background noise going it hasn’t been an issue. Or like I stated before, putting something over it does the trick. It doesn’t get hot so as long as it can get some ventilation it’s fine. If you think the CTC is noisy, then you should hear the rest! It’s a whisper in comparison.lol

I must be mistaken but I thought vacutech makes ED pumps which is more along the lines I was looking for.

There is no such thing as an ED pump or a size pump. It is the way you use the pump. For ED you would use a lower pressure and reduced session times and for size you would choose increasing pressure and longer session times.

I have two of them. Keeping one since I don’t travel as much anymore.
Made more gains quicker with the CTC pump and thick wall cylinders than with any other I’ve owned. Went from 5.5” L to 7 3/4” L and 4.3” Cir to 6.5” Cir. I have also been getting into more water pumping since I have pretty much reached a wall and am trying to get a little bit more length and girth utilizing some different methods that I’ve found here ;) )

Sorry, but I already have a DP-4000 at home :) But I’m having some trouble setting it up on my laptop.. (Got it working for my stationary PC from before)

The problem with the laptop is that it is unable to access the DP-4000 for some reason. When I have the DP-unit plugged in to the USB and the Digital Maximizer program (v1.3) is running, I’m unable to select different COM-ports in the software.

Only COM1 shows up in gray and unchangeable. When I try to run the DP from my laptop the timeline in the program starts, but the unit does nothing. (No vacum)

I have tried changing drivers for the DP-unit etc, and also tried to change COM-ports in the device manager in windows (win-7) with no luck.

I’m not an expert in computers, so if anybody have an idea of whats going on?

I’ve read that on some PCs you have to run the software as an administrator program or mode if that means anything to you ?

Hmmm.. Never had an issue like that. I’ve used it with Win XP and Win 7 with no problems. The only issue I had with Win 7 was to just go in the dialog box that states COM 1, COM 2, COM 3 etc.. And change it to the COM that it liked to communicate on. Other than that it’s been smooth sailing. Bing able to make and store your own programs is a dream. Then you can just kick back hands free and let it get to work. Not to mention that you can store which ever program you want onto the DP-4000 and go portable until you want to try something else. It really is light years ahead of what else is out there. Hence the big bux!

Keep trying different usb ports until you find the one using com1? Not sure if thats how it works but its worth a shot. I remember having a camera that would only work on a certain communiction port and I had to plug it into a specific usb slot on my computer to get it assigned to that com port.

You were correct capernicus1, I manually ran the software as administrator and it works now, thx dude :)

As a sidenote, I love my DP-4000 and would recommend it to anyone who can afford it except if you are doing PE in stealth, cause it does make some noise oO (at least mine does)
