Cylinder repair?

Hello - I use a BM X40 normally, but every once in a while I’ll use my leaky regular pumps. The bigger one is 3”x10” (something to grow into, HA!) and has a flat top. It leaks at the top as I am sure some of the glue that holds the top on, has deteriorated. A while back I duck taped it and it seemed not to leak as much. Today I took the old duck tape off to replace it with waterproof duck tape, and the whole top came off.

Question is, does anyone know what may be the best glue the top back on? Super-super glue says put a dot every inch when repairing something, so that won’t work as there needs to be a continuous “bead” on the top ridge of the tube, before pressing the top on. If anyone has an idea as what would be best to use, it would be appreciated if you would let me know. In the meantime, I’ll use my “cock only” tube, that’s 2.25” x 9”. Got to go to like a 2.75” x 9” as I am working on attaining more girth. Need to work on consistent hanging,( using all my metal cock rings or resistance tubes, for weights:) ).

Thanks!

JnJ- I split your question into a separate thread as it is inappropriate to ask this type question in another member’s personal progress log.

Initial: 7” BPEL; 6” NBPEL; 5.25” - 5.5” MEG

Current: 7-7/8” BPEL; 7-3/8” NBPEL; 8.5” BPFSL; 6.5” MEG; 6”x5” Flaccid.

Goal: Improved/consistent EQ while managing ED. Secondary: maintain current stats.

Most tubes are acrylic or polycarbonate. Those glue up using a “cement” specifically for those materials that essentially chemically welds the pieces together. Other glues, epoxies, and sealants won’t stick to the material, so they fail under minor stress.

They need to be a tight fit on all mating surfaces and everything has to be 100%. clean.

The reason it leaked and eventually broke is that the original maker didn’t do a good job either fitting or cleaning it and probably was skimpy with the cement.

Should be able to find a small container on amazon for cheap.

I dropped my LAPump cylinder and the top came off. I used graze glue to reattach it and three months later it is still working leak free.

The manufacturer might say what kind of plastic it was made from; then the appropriate glue could be used.

Most DIY ways to tell the difference between acrylic and polycarbonate involve destroying a sample.

There are glues that work with *both* acrylic and polycarbonate; they’re expensive ($15-ish for a small tube), but might be worth it.

I made my own tube long ago, and just used clear silicone sealer to attach the top. It worked fine.
