Flaccid Pumping

12

This has held true for me. Entering the tube erect has far less edema overall, but I get the donut if I pump for 40 minutes. Entering the tube flaccid, there is edema throughout but, I don’t recall ever getting a donut. Maybe it was there but since there was edema all around, it blended.

I have always entered the tube at least with a 90% erection however it will wax and wane while in the tube as I don’t use porn or anything else to stay hard. Does that mean I am less likely to get edema? Usually when I have come out of the tube I am semi erect still as for me at least being in the tube feels pretty good.

@Hank

As long as you’re using the correct cylinder size, yes 90% erection should be good for reducing edema. Some days my erection is better than others too, on those days I compensate by doing more sets. So on a good EQ day, I will pump for two 20 minute sets. On days when my EQ isn’t as good, I will pump for four 10 minute sets. In between sets, I will massage and kegel in fresh blood, then bring my erection back.

I usually enter with a semi, but I’ve never noticed a major difference between the two. It takes me a little longer to get max expansion when I go in soft but usually only a couple minutes. Personally I think getting an erection and edging after you exit the tube is much more important. Just seems like I don’t have as much edema if I edge for 10-15 minutes after.

That’s interesting. I may test edging after to see what affect it has on me.

My original question was if flaccid pumping could act as some type of stretch. I asked this because I get more expansion/stretch when I enter the tube flaccid than when I enter erect. If that’s the case, is that expansion just more fluid (edema) because there is more “space” in the tube for it to fill, or is it more stretch in the tissue. Again, there is a 1/4” - 1/2” difference in length for me in the tube flaccid vs. erect with the longer occurring when flaccid. When I noticed this, I thought what would happen if I entered a 12” tube flaccid. Would it act as a stretcher except instead of using traction it is using pressure and would there be a benefit.

I think that it would just result in more edema.

Yeah I get that, but my question is why would being erect on entry prevent that? It seems like the negative pressure would be pulling at the tissues in much the same way?
Maybe the concept is that the vacuum force doesn’t differentiate which fluids it’s pulling in and so starting with a high level of blood to begin with means the edema/lymph has to play catch-up? That kinda makes sense, but I wonder if that common sense notion is based on any substantial anatomical awareness. It would seem to me that when the cavernosa are at some natural capacity, the vacuum will start acting on the lymph no matter what, since there is suddenly resistance on pulling in more blood.
Anyway, I’ve never understood it, and it makes pumping just that slightest bit more inconvenient, so I’d love to feel like I can ignore it.

My thought is that when erect the pressure on the skin is such that cells are compressed which slows edema buildup.

Once one has gained some pumping experience I think management of the edema becomes easier. Thus going in erect or flaccid has less impact on the amount of edema generated.

Initial: 7” BPEL; 6” NBPEL; 5.25” - 5.5” MEG

Current: 7-7/8” BPEL; 7-3/8” NBPEL; 8.5” BPFSL; 6.5” MEG; 6”x5” Flaccid.

Goal: Improved/consistent EQ while managing ED. Secondary: maintain current stats.

As stated, it very well could be an old husband’s tale of entering erect. I too subscribe to this method and pump accordingly.

In my experience and despite what’s considered common here at TP; I enter as erect as possible 90-100%, slide into the pump and then I relax, focus on deep breathing and I avoid kegeling. I find when I allow my body and thus my dick to relax, I get the most expansion and length.

Although I also don’t milk the tube, I will tug up on it, similar to a wade fisher occasionally tugging at his rod to keep fatigue to a minimum against my (almost non-existent) fat pad. If I literally just hold/let it sit there and don’t move the tube at all, it ends up getting sore 30-40 minutes in.

I hope this helps!!!

I almost never go in erect. I often do short 10-15 minute sets throughout the day. Using short set durations has been my method for controlling edema. It’s more convenient to not have to whip up an erection. I have no idea if the long term gains are negatively impacted by this, but as far as maintaining increased girth, it works for me.

Everyone is different, clearly. I typically put a few jelq rings on, apply my lube and see how erect I can get before going in. Sometimes I will even do a short pump with the rings in place, remove tube and jelq lightly which will usually get me pretty erect. Then I remove rings and do about a 20 minute heated pump, remove tube, apply rings, easy slow jelq, remove rings, back in another 20. Remove, rings on, slow jelq the warm penis, then go into the stretcher (Size Doctor) after removing rings. I try to use heat during stretch too.
