flared vs thickwalled cylinder....which is best ?

flared vs thickwalled cylinder....which is best ?

I’m about the buy a tube, and would really like to get as much feedback as possible in order to know whether it’s best for me to invest in a thickwalled tube, or the standard flared bottom ?

I wonder if one is more comfortable than the other—i guess this is highly debatable. I’m drawn to the sturdy look of the thickwalled cylinderm but that might be all it is, look !

Please users of thickwall cylinder chime in, I’d highly appreciate it.

Regards

Thickwall. Sturdy, as you said. Great base seal with lube alone, no jelly donut needed. Doesn’t dig into your thighs like the flanges on the other one. Same diameter all the way up. (This may be a peculiarity of my flared one, but it tapered toward the top and as I got longer, my glans got squished.)

Never used a flared cylinder. The one that came with my pump wasn’t all that thick, and cracked at one point, I was able to repair it, but when it came time to make one myself, I used 1/8” thick material. It is nice and solid. I don’t think if I were to make another one there would be any need to make one thicker or thinner than that.

westla90069 : Does it increase thickness too ? I was told by the rep at Vacutech that it is only good for length, is that true ? Please let me know.

Take care

Do you mean pumping? I think it adds to girth as well as length, but more to length.

Yup I meant pumping. Glad to know that it adds on both sides.

I don’t know if you’ve ever tried a flared cylinder, but in the event that you did, would you say there’s a large difference in the girth gains as opposed to a thickwall cylinder ?

Thanks

Definitely thick wall, no contest.

Yes, however the one I had tapered toward the closed end and I found it a problem as I got longer because the diameter was smaller. That limited girth gains. Now, not all cylinders with flared ends taper, but mine did and that limits my experience.
