Myeight,
I’m confused. First you say, and I quote:
“Guess you did not read my post properly. I dont use a pump”
Then you said and I quote:
“My first attempt at pumping was 1976 or 1977 .From 1980 I pumped nearly every second day ,In a hot bath using water ,with mouth suction.occasionally having 2-3 week breaks. From 1995 to 1999 was the same using a hot spa ,2000 till now, I pump at night while in bed ,for anything up to 6 hrs at low vacuum, but the average is about 2-3 hrs.
If anyone has a longer history of pumping or thinks I dont know what I am doing thats OK by me. In 1976-7 I read about pumping in a magazine so there must be someone out there with more experience than me.”
Unless I read this post wrong as well, it looks like you use a home made pump. Maybe I’m a little thick. It wouldn’t be the first time I’ve been accused of it. I don’t know how else to interpret your post. Sure sounds like you use a pump to me.
You also said, and I quote you again:
“If you are going to pump by reading a gauge ,its like driving a car by looking at the speedometer all the time .There are some days and conditions when it is not piratical to drive at a certain speed. The same goes for pumpin”
I don’t understand that analogy, what does a speedometer in a car have to do with a gauge on a vacuum pump? Again, maybe I’m being a little thick headed. A speedometer in a car only tells you how fast you are going, where a gauge on a pump, tells you where you are. I fail to see your point here.
In my post to you I was only expressing my opinion, not your amount of experience, or lack thereof. In my opinion pumping without a gauge is dangerous. Everyone has a different threshold of pain. If a person has a high threshold, they may not realize that they are pumping at a high level of pressure until it’s too late and the damage has been done. A pump gauge lets a person know where they are as far as pressure is concerned.
