I just got my home aid pump together yesterday using a Mighty Vac II and a gravel cleaner. I didn’t have any padding so I could only pump up to about to about 5 Hg, but once I had a good seal it was pretty easy to maintain. Anyway all in all it was very inexpensive to make and twice as easy to put together.

Not mine. It has a ring of schedule 40 PVC pipe glued flush with the base and slightly beveled. This makes the rim a little over .25” thick.

Wow good Idea with PvC there Hobby, I may have to try that. I did get that Plasti Dip stuff from Home Depot and with 3 coats it is much more comfortable.
