How does "The Grip" work? Can it be homemade?

Has anybody got “The Grip” device? The package is very expensive and has lots of components and doesnt say or have good photos of one in use. How does it really work? I would think there is problems with loosing vaccum for hanging for that long so have they overcome this problem somehow?

Could you just buy some of their spare parts and use your own weights? (The website says they won’t sell the main part unless you own one already, but I don’t think they will turn down a sale)

Can one be homemade? I made a device from very narrow tube which could just suck my glans into it. I hanged 3lb but any more and it slipped off. The grip claims to handle 8lb.

I’ve seen that site too. Way too expensive. If you want to hang, you can’t beat the BIB. Also the Captn’s wench is inexpensive, easy to construct, and works great as an ADS or for hanging lighter weights. Another device for an ADS is called the Tugger. It’s intended for foreskin restoration but he makes one that I use several hours a day after hanging. Very comfortable and easily worn and I even hang up to 3 lbs. with it.

Before getting the Bib hangers, I had a grip.

I thought it was great to begin with. It was my second penis stretcher device I brought.

Basically with the grip you get a video of how to attach it and how it works.

1. You wrap with a bandage that sticks to itself but not skin. The wrap covers the head completely and is also covering the nerve bundle behind the ridge of the head.

2. Next you roll on a contact sleeve made from latex or some special material. I think it is latex though. It covers the wrapped head and the sleave is pulled up along the shaft. Kinda like a cut off condom (if there is such a thing).

3. Then you attach the grip chamber. It also has a latex sleeve which you firstly roll down on the chamber. Then put your head in the chamber then roll the outside sleeve back off the plastic grip chamber.

4. You then get a Velcro strip and tighten it around the shaft behind the ridge of the head.

Now try to picture that the second sleeve is also attached to the grip chamber as well behind your head.

5. There is a tube that then clicks into the bottom of the grip chamber and you suck the air out with your mouth. The vacuum is then created.

However the skin of the penis is protected by the latex contact sleeve. But the area of attachment is RIGHT BEHIND THE HEAD.

I used the grip for about 2 months successfully and got up to hanging about 6.5 to 7 kg.
I never lost vacuum but did have an outer sleeve break twice on me and down come the weight and almost landed on my big toe.

I eventually got both bib hangers and gave my grip away to a member on this board. My suggestion to you is not to buy it.

It does grip and grips well but is expensive and I think dangerous because of the attachment point behind the head.

I would recommend a Bib Hanger. The grip has two many things to attached to make it work and you also have no way of monitoring the temp. of your head while wearing it.

I can give you the phone number of the grips head honcho if you like. I was trying to get info on how to hang better with it just before I found this place.

Like Mr Justin, I bought the grip system, and I agree that the Bib hanger is the best way to go….

I used the Grip for many many months. Got in 1997 and it did work well for some time but then I noticed it started having problems holding a vacuum. I got up to about 7.5 lbs max weight with it. I have to admit, I was seeing very good flacid gains but never nothing in real measurable erect gains.

The unit is a real pain-in-the-ass though. The G-flex sleeves will stretch out of shape or the unit will stop holding a vacuum and will won’t to slide/pull off your unit or the hourglass sheat that attaches to the chamber becomes old and unshapely and causes problems etc etc.

Another big problem was with getting the right size replacement parts for the grip. I would order something (already knew the size I needed) and they would ship something intirely different. Not to mention It would take a solid week to get here, I only live 2 states away!

Bottom line, take it from an actual “former” user that the Grip simple will not work consistantly for any length of time due to poor design and many inherant problems. That’s why I just started pumping again. Pumping’s simple, effective and rather quick to do.

If you want to gain length then maybe the Penimaster would be a better approch or perhaps the Bib hanger. Save your money, the grip’s a piece of junk (imo)!

Great description, seems a lot of trouble. I am impatient and hate fiddling with wraps and tightness settings but the grip sounds like even more trouble! I have a few homemade hangers sort of like Bibs and Piets.

I always think I could get more stretch by pulling from the glans rather than half way up the penis, vacuum seemed the only reasonably safe way of pulling the entire penis. I also wonder if this is the reason hanging leads to just base girth, if the entire penis was pulled maybe there would be girth gains all the way down.

I have been pumping in a narrow tube too with a wide base. I still think that this in effect is equal to hanging weights just like with a vacuum weighted system. If you have a cylinder on and pull it up it is the same as having a weight attached to the end, but isnt the pressure you feel from the flared base against the pelvic area just equivalent to the weight too? If you have a very large area flared base you could get a bear a lot of equivalent weight on the pelvic area at high pressures. The only problem is blisters, if it is narrow enough you get no donut effect and a condom may help stop blisters a bit, I get no donut and a huge glans in my narrow tube.

For what it’s worth, Dan at Pumptoys.com said in an email to me that they are developing a hanger (I think that it uses vacuum plus weights/ADS) and will be offering it for sale sometime in the near future.
He told me this in January and said they were commented to getting it done. He said to keep an eye on their website for further developments. It looks like they are developing several different things.

Pumptoys seems to be a good inovative company so just thought I’d mention it for anyone interested.

Thanks for mentioning the tugger. I read up on it and made my own, they are amazing. I was skeptical since it is so simple there is huge thread about them over on MOS. Only restriction to weight is how much vacuum you can take on the small area on the glans. I made mine bigger so I could handle more weight than the commercial model. If people don’t believe it is not just for foreskin restoration then try this.
Peel back your skin and squish a smooth object against the glans, a photo film canister is ideal. Now roll the skin up over the sides. Grip the end of the canister and pull while holding the skin in place lightly with the other hand.

In effect it is the same as the penis-stretcher I describe here, but using the foreskin as the outer tube
Will this vacuum hanger/self regulating pump work?

I am going to write up details on how to make a proper one including the outer cone, I have a very simple idea for it.

I was able to hang 11lb with it with easily. I reckon I’ll be up to 15lb soon. Had 8lb on for about an hour with no break and barely noticed it. The great thing is no fear of a black/numb head due to lack of circulation, no messing with wraps or tightness settings.

Not yet. I am looking for something everybody can use. Mine was carved from a hunk of hard plastic. I drilled a hole through it and put a bolt through with a hook on it for weights. I then covered it all in silicon to seal the hole and make it more comfortable. The silicon smoothed out the rough carving. For the outer cone I simply cut the neck from a 500ml soda bottle and used it. When it is cut it is rough so a lighter can smooth the edges by heating for a second. You could coat it internally with silicon too.

One way I want to try is the bottle cap itself. Bore a hole and put a cord through and tie it so it cant come through the cap. Then layer on silicon to form a cone shape.
