One of the reasons I took a couple months off from PE this summer was to let my unit recover from what I considered “trauma” caused by stretching and jelqing. To be specific, discoloration was a big problem - we’re talking dark reddish-brown as opposed to its normal pink/dark pink. Also, my erections were not as vigorous as they were before starting PE. I made some decent gains in only a 3-month period but these negative factors eventually convinced me to take a long break. My desire to gain never went away, however; let’s just say I feel less than adequate when fucking my girlfriend. Eager to get back into PE, I wanted to try something that - I thought - would be less traumatic than manual exercises or at least something to effectively compliment a reduced manual program. Pumping seemed good. After doing some research I got my pump and started up - this was about 2 weeks ago…

In short order, the discoloration returned. And instead of a healthier-looking/hanging flaccid, my unit does the opposite - it turtles. I really don’t think I’m overtraining. I do only one pumping session a day, at 3-4hg (NEVER higher), for about 10 minutes. Afterwards I’ll finish with a 5-to-10 minute massage followed by a hot wrap. One thing is I don’t leave my dick inside the tube immediately after pumping - I don’t do a “cool down” before the massage, so maybe this is a factor but I doubt it.

On a semi-side note, I did try one of those Thermacare heat wraps for the first time yesterday and it really felt nice, especially when removing it after about 6 hours (you can wear it up to 8) - the unit felt warm and spongy - absolutely no turtle, so I’ll definitely keep doing that in the meantime.

So what do you reckon, gents? It doesn’t feel like I jumped in too fast because I’ve read lots of info on pumping (incl. 101) and have seemingly taken every precaution listed. Anyone else have the discoloration and/or lack-of-strong-erection problem? Please help.

Do you enter the tube erect or flaccid? I’ve only been pumping for one month and I experienced this problem in the beginning. I use to enter the tube flaccid. Now I enter it erect, I pump 3 x 15 min. a day at pressures that would get me thousands of warning posts from the T’S pumping community and my flaccid is good. I also think I’m starting to gain.

It is a fact that some of us are far more prone to discoloration than others. It may not be your method, rather the innate chemical composition of your penile tissues.

Thanks Avocet — always nice to hear from a Hall of Famer… So what do you recommend I do? Just continue what I’m doing? Perhaps try less time in the tube at lower hg? More heat? Give up?

Don’t give up. :(

Suggestions:

Give condom pumping a try. Might work for you.

If you are doing 15 min sets each, that isn’t working for your tissue. Try multiple sets, 3 or 4 at first but only 5 or 6 min. each. See if that helps.

Thanks again for the feedback. I read a little on condom pumping and will look further into it.

So today was the second day I wrapped. But instead of using the thermacare (since I did not workout yet), I wrapped with an Ace self-adhesive bandage. I used pretty good pressure and wrapped from base to just below the head (I read Thunder and Bib’s “Wrapping to remove discoloration” thread and sort of followed that advice). Wore the wrap for about 5 hours and when I removed it, my unit had a fuller, spongier look and feel to it, just like yesterday. I think I’m onto something with this wrapping here because I seem to respond well to it - of course I haven’t seen any improvement in the color but it’s obviously too soon to tell and discoloration was only half the battle - the other half being a weak, turtling flaccid but that virtually disappeared after the wrap. Also purchased a heat lamp today so I can pump under a constant heat source. We’ll see if these modifications improve things…
Any other advice, please don’t hesitate to share!
