Just got first pump. Won't seal. Why?

I just got my first penis pump (Thickwall UK) and it won’t keep any seal at all when I try to use it. There’s no problem with the pump. It pulls a vacuum just great when, for example, I pump mating it to my thigh.

The issue is apparently either pubic hair or the shape of the surface I’m mating it with on my pelvis.

Can someone tell me if this is a common problem? Would I need to shave or something to get it to work (really don’t want to do that)? Do people use silicon rings or something to address the problem? I never had trouble with Bathmate. Anyone have any other advice?

I’ve always read that shaving is a “must” if you wanna do it properly.

I guess reason for that is cap. For good seal it should be either quite tight or have very wide grip. There are many different types and sizes, I’ve seen even something like fleshlight which actually should work pretty well, because that should be very soft and prevent harming, but at the same time “to hug”. But i don’t know if that is good or bad, because you actually hold 1-2 inches in that.

So i would advice to look for different cap. You can order or make it yourself. I’ve seen somewhere thread with using silicone.

You do not need to shave… but you do need to trim it all down to under 1/2” (13mm) in length and use lube on the sealing surface.

I got a thickwall. It works better with less hair. I use lube.

Thanks guys for the advice. I tried trimming with clippers to the shortest that I think looks somewhat natural and it still doesn’t seal even with lube. So I’ve gone ahead and ordered a silicone endring from thickwall. Hope that does the trick. Thanks again for the advice and will keep updated.

Yup go get a battery powered trimmer and just trim up the area. Leave a 5 o’clock shadow. Lube or vasoline and it will seal fine.

So you put lube on the base of the tube where it comes into contact with your skin? I’ve always used vasoline at the base of the tube if I’m not getting a good seal.

Try starting with an erection and bone pressing the tube into your crotch as you begin to pump up.

I tried pushing as hard as possible and it just doesn’t seal. I’m also not enthused about this silicone seal I bought. You have to stretch it over your dick. It’s more like a sleave for your dick that interfaces with the tube than it is a gasket for the end of the tube as I expected. I might have to trim down a lot. Guess Ill stay away from pumping for a bit. Unfortunately, I’m a bit of an anti-shaving zealot. Can’t stand how all girls seem to shave now as if everyone is trying to look prepubescent. Just a pet peeve of mine. I ask that women look like women not 13 y/o, which would make me a hypocrite if I did a great deal of trimming myself.

Hate to folk give up, have you tried a few different lubes without the seal ?

Also you didn’t mention what size your cylinder is compared to your girth.

You don’t have to shave everything. Just try trimming a bit around the base of your cock where the cylinder contacts.
