'Packing the tube' for focus on length?

I have been pumping for about two months. From what I have read here and on other sites, packing the tube is the best way to work on length. I have been packing my smallest tube for more than a month, but have not yet seen any sustainable EL gains. Most recently, I have been concentrating on avocet8’s routine for ED because length is not my current goal.

The hazard generally associated with ‘packing the tube’ and trying for length development in that way is water blisters on the glans.

When the tube is packed, all the force is focused on the glans. Applying enough force (vacuum) to gain length may cause water blisters to form. If you do this, please be careful. Water blisters can put a major halt to your pumping schedule.

For Lampwick, becoming hung like a donkey was the result of a total commitment.

Is this also true if one stays only within the 4-6 HG range?

I`ve never experienced a blister in my pumping career yet, but then again I have never been high on the pressure and I also switched to my 2” cylinder when the previous one were getting tight.

I don’t get how people get length from pumping. A great pumping session leaves me with increased girth out of the tube. Increasing pressure has been a negative experience for me.

Start: 5.75 inch BPEL 4.75 inch girth BSEG (Nov 1 2007)

Current: 7.4 inch BPEL 5.4 inch MSEG 5.75 inch BSEG (Oct 24 2009)

Goal: 7 inch NBPEL 5.5 inch EG=> New Goal: 7.75 inch BPEL 5.75 MSEG

I have gained both length and girth through pumping. I have briefly tried a narrower tube in recent years, which I packed along the full length; but it added nothing to length or girth and has caused problems with red spots and donuts. All my gains were achieved in a tube which allowed plenty of space for expansion in length and girth. I have recently returned to semi-serious pumping in order to maintain my size and maybe even gain a little more; but most of all because pumping is so much fun. I am using a 10” x 2.25” tube, which I pack a little bit at the base (I am 6” non-pumped girth). My advice is to follow gprent’s recommendations on selecting a cylinder size, and forget about full length packing.

I’m using a cheap 2.5 X 10 inch inch tube with a rubber gasket in the end. I have been using this for five weeks and have seen both girth and length gains. I bought this tube just to see if I liked pumping and will be getting my Lapdist elliptical tomorrow. I feel I will see even better results with the custom sized tube and lack of gasket. I pump in warm water only and it has been great with no drop in EQ and a great pump throughout the day. I pump five days on and two off with two 15 minutes sets per day. I do intervals where I drop the pressure down to a minimum for about 30 seconds every five minutes. Although I tried to follow a protocol I read on another thread here at Thunders where your LUV is 1/4 inch under BPEL (for length) but I find I can go 1/2-3/4 inches above BPEL in the tube with no ill effects. It seems as some of my gains are cementing although I won’t know for sure until I take a break. I much prefer the warm water pumping to air pumping and with jelqs before in between, and after, I have had great results. Pumping is good fun as well. My opinion is that you need not pack a tube for length gains. Just my experience.
