Selecting Your Cylinder Size

I have just joined the site. I have been doing PE on and off for about two years or so. I have a 9x2 inch tube which I pack in less than 5 minutes of a thirty minute session. I have no problem packing the tube at safe pressures but I am wondering if by me packing the tube so fast into each session if this is stopping me from gaining any length? I am roughly 7” in girth and about 8.0” in length. I will do the official BPEL measurements and get them posted later. I did go ahead and ordered the LA Pump Deluxe with a 10x2.5 inch tube in hopes that I can start getting a little length out of this. I know some are going to say why do I even bother doing this since I am already of adequate size. Reason is I want to and I enjoy it. I would love to hear any thoughts on why I might not be gaining any length. I do stretching exercises as well after each session and I do 2 30 minute sessions a day.

To me looking at your post it would seem the problem is you have no room to expand in the pump, you have outgrown it. Likely will start gaining as soon as you can keep growing throughout the whole pumping session without packing it at max capacity.

Is Using A Slightly Wrong Size dangerous?

I’m in the 3.50-4.50 range with the very base of my pens being about 4.50 when erect while the largest size along the shaft is around 4.0 . I had a hard time finding anything descent in the “1.50” size cylinders and I ended up getting a bundle that came with everything I wanted but it had a “1.75” cylinder instead. I mostly wanted length but I would like to increase girth as well but I’m worried about any potential damage or distortion using a slightly to large cylinder might cause. I don’t have to much money to spend so is it important enough to wait? Any advice would be appreciated.

The size is important for a couple of reasons. The first is you don’t want too small or you waste your money. Second, too large and having your balls get sucked into the cylinder can be a comfort problem.

You should have no problem with a 1.75”

The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.

Guys I’m wondering at what point to go up a cyclinder size? I can fill my 2” tube in about 15-20 minutes, full shaft. Does this mean i should do a second session in the next size cyclinder? I do have trouble keeping my balls out of the larger cylinder. Any suggestions?

Yes, once you pack your 2” cylinder, switch over to your 2.25” cylinder and continue with your session. One tip for keeping your balls from being sucked in is to start with an erection and bone press the cylinder into your crotch as you begin to pump up. Also be careful with using too much lube.

I did this a few times when I first purchased the pump, my Cock just kinda hung there in the middle of the bigger cylinder - the base was the only thing that was able to pack the bigger cylinder - maybe 3” worth, which made me think it was worthless. Anyway I’ll give this a shot. Thanks for the response.

I’m going to disagree with Gprent here.
In my opinion, packing the 2” tube after 20 minutes means it is a real good size for you. I would stay in that 2” tube. But between sessions do 5 mins or more of jelqing/edging etc to keep down the bloat, then go back in the 2” for next session. The jelqing keeps the fluid bloat down and the tube will not be as tight.

You might try 5 mins of Firegoat rolls. Does absolute wonders for inflammation for me.

I times how long it took me to pack the 2” tonight ;) 7 minutes.

I did switch to the 2-1/4 tube tonight after packing the 2. Its weird not feeling the walls of the cylinder, in 15 minutes i packed About 3” hopefully I’ll be able to pack this one…

Same Size For Water Vs Air Pump?

Hi all,

While following the newbie plan and reading extensively, I ordered a hydromate x30, then found the thread about being unable to measure pressure. (Doh!) Base girth is 4.5, so I ordered a 1.75” diameter cylinder using the chart to at least be able to feel measured pressure and wing it, if I don’t just chuck the Bathmate altogether. (ugh!)

I plan on water pumping after reading much here, also planning on doing the slow, incremental plan from Gprent’s thread. My objective is to improve EQ, girth first, length secondary but also desired, and of course avoid injury, I am not in a rush.

The thing is, the cylinder came in yesterday and the difference between it and the x30 in terms of size (diameter) is quite significant.

Assuming the Bathmate folks engineered their product well, gauge issue not withstanding, did I get the right cylinder size? In other words, does the chart provide recommendations that work for both air and water pumping or does water pumping require a larger diameter?

If the chart works for water pumping, all I can say is wow, the cost for pump with gauge is significantly less than the Bathmate and with the added safety of a guage, I don’t see why anyone would buy a bathmate unless, like me, they hadn’t read enough.

Am I missing something?

Thanks everyone, Gprent especially, for all the excellent info.

The chart is for selecting clear acrylic air cylinders. Obviously, you don’t want to buy one too small, and if you get one too large, you run into the problem of having your balls getting sucked into the cylinder.

The chart has nothing to do with the Bathmate product. I believe the problem with balls getting sucked into the Bathmate is less because the combination of the rubber booty and water provides enough friction to keep your balls from being sucked in.

I recommend for getting conditioned to pumping, you stick with your air pump so you can control the pressure and avoid high pressure type trauma.

Ok, so you would recommend air vs. Water pumping, taking bathmate out of the picture?

In other words, buying a cylinder with a brake pump and water trap, putting water in cylinder and pumping would not be recommended vs using the same cylinder, etc for air pumping?

So same equipment water vs air - air is preferred as a recommendation over water? I certainly get that a gauge is much safer than bathmate or other not using a gauge.

Thanks again for the help.

You can certainly use acrylic cylinders for water pumping and steps should be used to keep the water from entering your air pump.

But as a newbie, I highly recommend getting conditioned to air pumping first before tackling other methods.

Understood.

Thanks for the advice.
