Starter pump?

Hello

I’ve been reading all I can on the forum but I’m still not sure what pump I should get to start out. It looks like the LA Pump Deluxe package (PSI pump, cylinder + video) is good. However I don’t live in the US, so the additional shipping cost, duty and taxes will increase the price from $140 to almost $250. If I find out I really like pumping I’m willing to spend the cash. However I’d hate to spend $250 and find out pumping is not for me. Should I spend the $250, or would it be wise to try a cheaper pump for starters just to see if I like it? I could buy a pump in my country, but over here the only pumps I can get are the “Hot Shots Bulb pumps” and the “Xtreme Sports pumps”. I see they’re very cheap in the US, so I’m not sure if they’re they’re such bad quality pumps they’re not even worth trying?

From what I’ve been reading I shouldn’t expect permanent gains from pumping, so I’m happy if I just can get some temporary gains by pumping up before sex.

Whether the gains from pumping are permanent or not has been often discussed.

A number of the guys here have built their own pumps using pretty clever and cheap materials. You might do the same. Read their threads seaching words and phrases like “homemade” and “build a pump.”

To be honest I have about 10 thumbs so I hate building stuff. So I don’t think I’ll make my own pump. My question then is: Are the cheap pumps I mentioned worth trying at all or are they a complete waste of money?
