Tapered v straight cylinder

Hello all,

I have spent the last few days studying all there is to offer in the pumping area. I’ve had little or no gains using jelq and manal streach and hanging isn’t for me so pumping looks like a great option.

I noticed that sokme cylinders taper from wide at the base then narrow as they go. Then there is the LA pump version that are straight. Any suggestions as to what is best, from what I have seen in here I would guess that the straight cylinder would be better….any thoughts before I spend the A$400 for the quality stuff.

Cheers
Skepdick

PS: any aussies know where I can get a good package locally. From what Ive seen there are no straight cylinder options locally.

Skepdick;

I’d go for the straight-sided cylinder. Tapered may impede glans expansion under vacuum and upper shaft expansion as well, depending on the degree of the taper. I do think having a flange at the bottom of the cylinder makes them a heck of a lot more comfortable to use and they offer a better seal.

How much is A$400 in US$?

Aslo check out the pumps offered on Ebay. Somebody here showed us a listing some weeks ago. There were a few good deals there in quality pumps.

Who makes tapered cylinders? I’ve never seen one. I Did see a spiral one once. ooey! Wish they were still available.

Tex3;

You are so kinky.

Think of it? A spiral cylinder would give whole new meaning to “screwing.”

Thanks for the confirmation on cylinder style Avocet8.

There is a brand seen on Aussie web sites called Falcon where the cylinders appear to taper slightly where as the LA gear is uniform.

$A1 = $US 0.60c and from what I can see the LA gear would still be the best deal even including shipping costs.

Cheers

Gentle Mr Justin Here

I Have found the Falcon trigger pump with gauge the best for me. It has a the advantage also that it can transfer fluid. When I pump I use warm water inside the cylinder. I brought a Falcon pump once from club X in Perth. It cost about $190.00 However due to me frequent pumping routine that only got me minimal gains I stuffed the pump up. Then I found the some pump sold in an automotive parts retailer for $115.00 and when purchased from here they give you a spare parts book with it. The pump comes from USA and is made by MityvacII and like I said is the same pump sumplied by Falcon. They are an aresome pump really because they are supposed to be used to induce vacum on eng intake manifolds with temps around 95 deg C. I suggest you pick up a MityvacII from a large auto retailor in Adelaide and then purchase cylinders from a Guy in Seattle called North West pump works. He has cylinders that have flat flanges on them and he calls them St. wall cylinders. I find it more comfortable then a sanfransico cylinder of the same size which have a more rounded flange at the base. Also a fella told me once that the purpose of a tapered cylinder is for guys how are not circumsized. But I never could understand how the taper would help them.

I don’t get that part either. Anybody here want to hazzard a guess?

I still think a taper would be a negative for guys with mushroom-type heads.

Skeptdick;

In my opinion the LA Pump is the best for the money. There are though, cheaper tubes available and in smaller size increments than 1/4th inch, as some of you have pointed out.

“$A1 = $US 0.60c ” Sort of like the Canadian echange, then. Thanks for that info.

Gentle Mr. Justin, I think we are going to have to give you a shorter handle, but it should be as amusing as the one you have.

Maybe it’s intended to minimize doughnutting.

I think the tapered tubes are to help you get better legnth gains. I think I read that somewhere on one of the pump sites. I’m not positive though.

wantabigdick

But how does that work? Wouldn’t a taper “smoosh” the top of the shaft if a guy were even slightly wider than the girth of the cylinder?

I’ll tell you it’s smooshing my glans. I’m approaching the eight inch mark (under vacuum) in a nine inch tapered tube and I’ve noticed lately that the coronal ridge comes out purple from being pressed up against the side. It didn’t use to be that way. I bought this tube at a local sex shop and it’s not marked in any way, so I don’t know the manufacturer. I’ll probably be getting a new, straight sided tube soon because of this new development.

Westla; You’re okay for now so long as you lube heavily but over time you might miss out on some glans and upper shaft expansion - depends on what you’re looking to get.

I know this is a rotten analogy, but unless somebody can point out some real benfit, I look at tapered cylinders sort of like I do the Jello molds my mother used. Is it ‘sposed to look that way?

Well, I’ve taken the first step and bought a vacuum pump.

After reading Gentle Mr Justins’ post I went to our local auto traders as it’s a huge store and caters mainly for the automotive industry, surly they would have one. They did’nt have the mityvac but in it’s place they had a TestVac complete kit and he did a deal for me at $A108 including GST and I jumped at it. I took a pic with my S55 mobile and will attach if anyone wants to see. It has a guage, it’s alloy construction and comes with a heap of little attachments and several lengths of hose. From what I can see it will support a wet application as it has a fluid container stopping water from going through to the guage and pump. The guage reads in inches and cm’s HG another plus I thought.

Anyway now all I am worried about if finding a cylinder and hope I can attach the pump ok.

Thanks for your help to get me this far.

Gentle Mr Justin,

I took your advice and just tried to order a cylinder via North West pump works and the price seems ok apart from the US$40 postage for just the cylinder and the US$10 connector I’d need to use with my pump. Jeepers batman that’s hurting for an item that must weigh less than a kilo.

Any ideas on where I can get a decent cylinder here in
Australia without the huge postage issue.
Anyone outgrown their 1.75 tube yet?, beggers can’t be choosers and nothing a good boil can’t address 8-)

I have to admit something, PE has been fantastic due to it’s low cost and progress may be slow but it’s there. I’d love my pumping project to follow a similar line. The pump I have seems excellent and I am hoping to get a cylinder at reasonable cost with the connector for my pump. Is this too much to ask?

Thanks in advance

Skepdick
