Unable to get past the initial pumping stages

Unable to get past the initial pumping stages

Hi all,

I’m a newbie here but do have some experience of pumping and jelqing and have some questions that maybe you guys can help with, or at least offer some advice.

I’d say that I’ve given pumping a couple of good tries, 6 months last year and a few months this year. Last year I picked up a bathmate and loved it straight away, the immediate changes were impressive. But I found that as time went on and I started to progress the routine, the pumping seemed to have the opposite effect and the initial changes in size and in EQ were gone and actually worse than ever. I decided at this point to just leave it and thought that maybe the bathmate is a bit too strong for me and after a few months picked up an electric pump with a reliable gauge so I could monitor the levels and try to adapt but it’s once again the same story - a great first couple of months with nice progression before a sudden halt and reversal with noticeably more spotting after pumping.

I’m unsure where exactly to go from here and am hoping perhaps someone can lend some advice, I’ve been thinking maybe I’m lacking something supplement wise or perhaps it’s a problem of the CNS (if pumping does actually do anything to the CNS) or maybe a problem I have with vasodilation over a longer period of time. In short, no idea what’s the cause here.

Any help or advice is much appreciated.

I’d say the tube is a good fit, I swapped out the tighter cuff that came originally on the electric pump for a slightly larger one to be more comfortable and there’s definitely some wiggle room inside the tube itself, not so much compared to the bathmate but still room to grow.

I’m going between -125 mbar and -200 mbar during a 10 minute session, before the latest problems (last week) I’d ramped up the next stage which was around -200 - -280. And this has been done over a 5/2 split.

To me it sounds like too much vacuum.

Started 7.75x5.75

Currently: 9.75bpX6.75eg My Picture Thread

Goal:10.0bpX7.25mseg Building a thicker unit, click by click, pump by pump, jelq by jelq!

-170mbar is -5inHg. Do not exceed -170mbar vacuum. Instead of staging by increasing vacuum just increase time by 5 min, or add another session. Example: starting stage 1 is -170mbar for 10 min, stage 2 is 2 x -170mbar@10min, stage 3 is 3 x ……….

Initial: 7” BPEL; 6” NBPEL; 5.25” - 5.5” MEG

Current: 7.75” BPEL; 7.25” NBPEL; 8.5” BPFSL; 6.5” MEG; 6”x5” Flaccid.

Goal: Improved/consistent EQ while managing ED. Secondary: maintain current stats.

Thanks @32quarters & @Titleist

I have to be honest, I didn’t realise the values were so high. The pump has 4 stages, -125 - -200 is only stage 2 :O This pump seems a little dangerous now.

And just to be clear, the advice is to NEVER exceed -170mbar right?

Thanks again! Really relieved I haven’t got to look into defective veins and whatnot but instead cool off on the pressure.

If your current pump has set vac levels which cannot be adjusted then I suggest that you get another one which can be more easily controlled. Manual pistol grip style vac pumps are very inexpensive in the U.S. and and are easy to use, and most important for your situation, are simple to adjust the vac level.

I am referring to the vac pumps which can be procured either as a separate purchase or as part of a brake bleeder kit. They are readily found for around $20. Of course you can by the same exact vac pump for $60-$80 from many of the pump cylinder sites or sex toy sites, but why do so?

There is also the added benefit that you can pump in the morning and then bleed the brakes in you car that afternoon. Multitasking tool.

How a dick responds to vacuum is an interesting onservation. Some guys get to -3inHg (-100mbar) and say the pain is so great they had to stop. Other guys can go to higher vac levels with little or no discomfort. A few have stated their program includes time at -10inHg (-340mbar).

An important component for anyone invocled in PE is having their penis properly conditioned for the activity they will be conducting. Just like lifting weights, one needs to start small and work their way up.

I’ll share my thoughts and observations:

What you described is that you had positive response for your first stage pumping but had poor PIs when you went to stage 2 of more vacuum. This appears to me to be a classic case of lack of conditioning. Independent of the lack of conditioning is the question of what is your theory of pumping? Do you need to exceed vacuum levels over -170mbar?

The results of the majority of pumpers support a vac range of -3 to -5i Hg (-100–170mbar) as the best level for gaining. When you think you have stalled, just increase time in the tube or add another session.

Guys that exceed -170mbar quite often are ones that have pumped for a long time and have stalled and are trying a different approach to break their plateau.

Pumping at a high vac level too quickly can have a negative result of toughening up the penis which can slow and limit gains, requiring a long decon period to recover.

I do like the idea of being able to bleed the brakes too :D

Thanks a lot for all the feedback :) I’d say the first week and a bit of stage 3 was great, this is -200 to around -280 and it felt good during that time, I’d been doing the stage 2 for around 2 months and assumed (stupidly it seems) that the way to move forward was going up the extra stages.

I’ll take a few days off now and resume again not breaking the -170mbar and see how I get on, maybe with a manual as you mentioned. The pump I have will hit -125 on stage 2 and then add pressure automatically until hitting the -200 before cycling again, so avoiding that + -170 area will be a bit of work with that pump.

And I’ve said thanks a few times but thanks again, I’m really happy I at least have a direction to move in with some proper advice. Was super bummed that it didn’t seem to be working and thought I was back at square one.
