Using CTC XL-3000 in UK

I am expecting delivery of my XL-3000 in the next couple of weeks. I have been told that I need a converter as follows:

“You need a converter @ 115 volts 60 Hz. with 1.5 Amps or 100 watts.”

Can anyone tell me where to buy one of these online in the UK?

Then select Components/cables(left hand side nav bar) you should be ok from there. I think the listing is a little fooked though, well the descriptions, so I’d suggest getting the number and calling to order OR drop into the stores, should be a locator there as well. Should be around 30 quid.

How long have you had your pump on order for.I too am from the u.k. and have been waiting for my order for over 5 weeks.I know they are hand built and i dont mind waiting for it but i hav’nt had a reply to my emails.

jo90, I ordered mine 3 weeks ago. I talked to the guy via email before and after I ordered and he told me it should be with me in about 4 weeks from order date. He responded quickly to my emails.

Thanks fortex, I found the correct converter thanks to your help and it’s on it’s way. Chris at CTC is working on my order over the weekend and hopes to ship next week, so hopefully Jo90 will receive his soon. I must say that I have been very impressed by the responses to my e-mails from this company, I’sorry Jo90 that you have not experienced the same.

Chris has since replied to my e-mails.I think there was some sort of mix up but it’s sorted now thanks.I should receive it in next couple of weeks.I have also bought one of vacutech’s tubes in the hope it will give me some length gains.Ive tried hanging and stretching at the correct LOT for around 12 months with no length gains so i’m hoping it will help.

I received my ctc 3000 ultra pump today and it certainly looks impressive. I was wondering how everyone else was getting on with theirs.

I also received my CTC 3000 pump today. It worked great for 10 minutes and suddenly stopped and won’t go again.

I guess it could be the power converter that is faulty, but it seems more likely to be the motor.

I’m not looking forward to the expense of sending it back. :(

A sense of deja vue Fortex, I wasn’t timing it exactly, but certainly no more than ten minutes later it stopped, never to go again, so I can imagine how disappointed you were. Did it turn out to be the converter, I hope so, as the pump is certainly a much better product than the converter appears to be.

rousseau506, I don’t know yet if it was the converter or not. It is too much of a coincidence that we are using the same converter don’t you think?

I will take mine back to Maplin and see what they say. Keep me posted on your progress.

Thanks Fortex, I thought you had this problem months ago and had found the solution. I contacted Chris at CTC and he says the pump is practically indestructable and I tend to agree with him, when you compare the twoopieces of equipment. I have emailed Maplin to see if they have many complaints about their product, so hopefully I will hear from them after the holidays. My heart sank when it all stopped after no more than ten minutes, especially as I had just read you post. I will of course let you know what happens, so thanks again. Rousseau 506

Well they certainly seem to be a problem. I actually managed to contact Maplin by phone today and while I could not stop dispatch of converter version 2, I can send it back when if arrives and I can get a refund for version 1, even though it is no longer converting anything to anything. While there I ordered version 3 and since there is no version 4, this better work. I am assured it will. Happy new Year everyone, Rouss.
