Water Pumpers - Problems with rust on female connector?

I am looking into buying an LAPdist pump. I have had a cheapish eBay pump for about 6 months that has served me fairly well, but the female connector at the top is pretty rusted now since I water pump.

Is the LAPdist pump’s female connector susceptible to rust too? Does anyone water pump with an LAPdist? Thanks guys.

I have been water pumping for about a year with an LAPump and have not had a rust problem. I guess you get quality parts with quality equipment. I am sure you can get a new female connector from McMaster (about $5, including shipping)
