Do a search on gprent’s intermittent pumping routine, highly recommended.
I used it for several months to condition up to my current pressures (I use water). In short, he recommends setting three levels (like 3, 4, 5inhg) and cutting total session time to step up to 30-35 minutes, 5 min at level 1, 5 min at level 2, the rest at level 3 (from memory). If you get edema or other negatives, go to less pressure and time. Start with 15 min at 3 and slowly move up in incremental stages.
After 5 months, I’m up to a cyclic pattern of (15 sec pump to tightness (tight feeling) or max 10mmhg hold for 30 sec, release to 0 for 15) - cycle for 15 min, then push 15 sec to 10, hold for 15, pump to 12, hold for 15, release to 0) - cycle for 15 min, last 5 minutes is the same as the previous cycle but in icewater. I enter semi-flaccid, pump past BPEL length, exit with almost no edema (circumcision scar to head skin is stretched but not a donut), night wood has been amazing (I suffered from ED until recently - this really helped), flaccid hang has increased by almost an inch and girth has increased by 1/2 inch. Haven’t measured length, my goals are ED improvement for me and girth for the Mrs. So far we’re both very happy with the results although I am doing this in stealth mode.
During experimentation, I found that for me, significant time under pressure with a static pump caused edema - even 5-10 minutes. Cycling really made a difference in the edema, almost completely eliminated it.
