Why Pumping for years?

I couldn’t find a pic of a trap being used but here is the set up:

But a lot of guys just put water in the tube, leave some air at the end and point the tube up so the air is at the valve while they pump the vacuum, skipping the more complicated setup.

Moving to a manual harbor freight pump with a gauge. For past 9 months or so using a cheaper non gauged electric low setting which I only used 6hg caused bleeding 🩸 out end of penis. Battle this on off 2 months would only be in tube 8-10 minutes though I did use soft clamping rubber cock ring. Bouncing back from ED issues. Was pumping twice most days. Chasing that carrot & got hit with the stick .

Does it mean that if you have a fluid trap, you can just fill the whole tube with water an let the trap catch the excessive water before it reach the pump or even with a fluid trap you need to leave an air socket ?

It’s best to leave an air pocket even with the trap. And the trap has to stay above the tube while the valve is open on the tube/ while the pump is attached, or it will leak into the pump anyway.

Personally I just sit in the shower with the tube pointed up after I’ve filled it with hot water. Then I let the water leak out of the bottom until I have an air column of the right size. Then I press the tube against my pelvis and start pumping out the air. After that the water won’t leak out, even if I do interval pumping, since my base fills the tube.

But either way works.
