6 month Long thrombosed Vein- varicose or permanent?
Hello all, I’ve read nearly every thrombosed vein/mondors/scerlosing lymphangitis thread and research paper over the past 6 months of my injury. I’m amazed that I haven’t encountered someone whose T-vein affects their sex life for this long. Strangely, the mornings and throughout the day it often looks deflated or even invisible sometimes. It gets engorged and hard when in contact with hot water, at night time, by erections and/or after I smoke. Gentle sex/erections are often uncomfortable as the vein gives me a “pulling” feeling, sex can even be painful if I try doing it normally (I’ve tried to only be gentle) as this vein swells up fully and feels irritated. Here is my time line:
October: Very rough sex, next day I have a hard cord around the corona of my penis, goes away over night. The next day I had a painful tight worm-like vein on the side of my penis running up the length and curling under the head/frenulum area. This vein stopped being constantly painful after a few days. I have two other new veins that bulge when the main offender vein bulges, so there may be a clot in one that impacts the others?
January: Hypersensitivity feeling in corona disappears finally, but vein on side of penis gets inflamed or engorged with every erection and stays hard after. Unlike my old self, I can’t go more than once and I have to be so gentle its been very frustrating.
March: It’s been almost 6 months, seen 4 urologists who’ve never heard of this condition and one recently proposed it may be a varicose vein. My urologists really don’t think its a lymph channel and that it’s a vein issue. Most times that I’ve had sex over the months, I see the hard cord around the corona come back during sex, but this isn’t painful, just sensitive.
Treatment: Since Day 1 I’ve spoken with Dr. S and Urologists and tried Heparin cream, pentoxyfylline and aspirin, high dose ibuprofen treatments, nothing worked. I have gone through “hands off” periods of 8 days, 16 days, and now 22 days in a row (all at separate times). I just recently started hot/cold showers so I’ll stay with that method.
My question is this, have any of you have a thrombosed vein last over 6 months? Can this vein become “varicose” after long enough if its a superficial vein? ( I read Pudendum say that that superficial penis veins have no valves- so maybe it can’t be varicose?). I’d appreciate any advice to resolve this issue, not to complain but I can’t tell you how much anguish this has caused! Thanks everyone : )
