deep bruise leaving discoloration

I got a really nasty bruise from stretching too hard a while ago, and its left a nasty black discoloration.. salicylic acid (same ingredient as wart removers) and bio-oil has helped to reduce it but I was wondering if anyone had any other ideas how to get rid of it. Thanks
