—You may need to see a Doctor—
That would be a good question for a doctor, and of course doctors don’t believe in PE… so I suppose that train of thought is going nowhere. Seriously though, if the problem persists, you may end up having to see a urologist or whatever the most appropriate type of doctor for that situation is.
—Be sure not to cause additional damage—
I would be extremely careful and perhaps for now it would be best to avoid things that cause any level of pain—since that could be an indication you are aggravating the injury or making things worse.
I realize it’s obvious that you shouldn’t PE while injured.
However, as whether or not to have sex—that has to be your own judgment call. You’ll have to evaluate whether having sex would create a risk of additional or otherwise unnecessary permanent damage.
—Heating and Cooling—
I would think heating and cooling / either or both could potentially help you heal more quickly. I wish I knew more about penile tissues; maybe someone more experienced than me will confirm whether heating & cooling is ok with your specific type of injury.
As far as skeletal muscles go, and sports injuries, heating is usually only safe/helpful after an injury is past the 48 hour mark, and ice is always ok, starting immediately after an injury occurs.
Here’s a nice thread about cooling:
Cool Down - YES You NEED It!
Here’s my understanding of the thread (really short version)
—Cooldown Fundamentals—
The primary concepts or application of a COOL DOWN seems to be:
1-Don’t cool your penis more than 2-3 minutes, cool it in an elongated state & avoid cooling to an extent that it causes the penis to turtle.
2-Use a washcloth, cold water, or ice if you prefer. Use personal judgment and stop if you reach the point of numbness.
3-Some PEers use cooldowns with all their workouts (it’s a matter of personal preference and time)
4-Cooldowns can help especially when your penis is inflamed or tracking towards an injury
Good luck on making a full recovery soon :)
