Nerve Damage, Numbness

The different degrees of nerve injuries:

BeardedDragon - 6 months into my penis hanging injury looking for advice

Short version: It’s basically impossible to permanently damage the nerves of your penis from normal PE force applications, including hanging and extending. Take some time off and you’ll regain full sensation within 2-3 months at the most, and likely much sooner. If and when you start back up, adjust your technique to avoid pinching a nerve again.

Thanks for the assurance everyone. :)

Update

I went to the doctor today, and he said that I suffered neurapraxia. The pains that I feel in my groin/perineum area are a sign that my nerves are already feeling. He said certainly it will heal, I just really have to wait. It may take days or weeks, he cannot really know. The medicines are pretty damn expensive though.

Now all I have to do is to make a story to my girlfriend about what happened, and I told my urologist about it. He agreed. 😂

Yo BeardedDragon!

I see you mentioned that for your numbness, it took you 3 weeks to recover to 80%, then 3 months for 80 -> 100%. Did you start any exercises after the initial 3 weeks, or did you start after the 3 months following this? Also, how did you ease back into PE to avoid another injury?

It was so long ago I don’t remember, but I know I took at least those 3 weeks off because despite all my research and the reassurances of others, I was still scared full sensation wouldn’t return. So I played it safe until it had mostly recovered.

I remember I consulted Bib on his forums about it, and he actually advised me to keep hanging through the numbness! He’s a little crazy in that regard. I think if there’s numbness, how would anyone know if they’ve corrected their technique well enough to prevent numbness? You couldn’t feel it to know whether you’d fixed the issue or not.

The only thing I did to prevent another numbness injury was to avoid doing what I thought caused it in the first place, which was really just my best guess at the time. I don’t remember the exact details, but it had to do with how I wrapped for hanging. I think I had wrapped looser than normal, and I was also hanging a couple pounds heavier than normal. Somehow it caused the wrap to cut off circulation once it was under the pressure of the hanger, and also pinch the nerve apparently. So I never did that again, and never had another issue.

The thing you have to realize about a numbness injury is that you’ve pinched or compressed a nerve. The vast majority of PE exercises do not cause this. So you had to do something different, or strange. Identify what it was, and either change your technique, or avoid doing that again, and your numbness will go away, and you’ll be able to continue PE without future numbness injuries.

Thanks for the hasty reply! I’ve had a number of minor injuries myself over the years, but looking back, all of them (apart from one at the very beginning when I was jelqing very foolishly) have been caused by stretching. So I suppose any future routine to enlarge and, more importantly right now, strengthen my penis would only involve jelqing, and no hanging or stretching.

Thanks for the advice

Also, congratulations on your 1337th post ;)

And a swift recovery to you. Above all, to those with nerve injuries, remember that 1st and 2nd degree damage heal completely on their own, no matter what. And that 3rd degree damage is nearly impossible to do by PE. So rest assured you will recover in time.

UPDATE AFTER 9 DAYS

I already recovered. I was able to have sex already since yesterday, and the doctor gave me one last week to take Lyrica and Cialis. After next week, I am already free from these medications.

Bottomline: in case of injury, go immediately to your urologist. They know better than us, obviously. He gave me 4 different pills to take so that I can speedily recover, which all require prescription. And they are very costly, I warn you. Nevertheless, no amount of money can replace the relief of knowing that my penis can erect hard and normal again. :)

I had some nerve injury as well, I did 5 minutes stretching with 1 minute pulls each one, and I wasn’t conditioned to that.

But I’m experiencing coldness in my dick as well.

You guys that had nerve injury, felt coldness as well? I’m worried.

If you guys could check my injury post too I would appreciate a lot.

BPEL: 6.10" (2017)

I feel coldness too. Still haven’t recovered after a week. Maybe it’s because I didn’t abstain. Good luck to you hope we’ll both fully heal

I’m glad to hear its not permanent. I was convinced it was once it happened which aused me to be risk averse in my excercises.

Nerve or venous lesions ? or both?

Hello everyone. First of all, I mean, it’s a great help site with a lot of useful information. My English is not very gut. I’m a 38-year-old, healthy, who has been doing sports all his life and now smokes, but his health is very good. My gains were not very big, about 2 cm in a year .. And I was not very persevering. I started with the newbie routine, I used a pro extender, then esl 40, then vacuum extender. I was learning to delay ejaculation with kegel exercises as long as I wanted it. The sex parties were marathon and everyone was happy .. Until one day when I used the normal proextender .. With adjustable iron rods with the white plastic ring around the base of the penis. .and I think I’m stretched out too hard .. Or I’ve left too long .I felt like something was wrong. In the meantime I had 1 cm of the vein hardest on the penis at half, but it disappeared in a few days. After that I felt my friend stop reacting the same as before. I don’t have instant erections (before when I see a girl I liked I had erections right away) .. My head lost its sensitivity almost to everything .. And the rest of the tree feel like 50% .. In the first month I felt how the power of my friend constantly decreases .. To the point that there was need a lot of stimulation to get up (before I had an erection from a photo with a good woman). My penis getting up hard to slow.. It take times.. I did not feel much about it .. I felt it was not hard how it should be .. Sometimes it dies inside .. If I delay ejaculation.. Penis get soften .. That before it did not happen. The morning wood

Was no longer present and I did not feel that desire when I saw a woman. It’s been hard to accept what happens. But I accepted that I had a problem and I put myself on looking .. Investigated. Now I have no stiffened vein or something else prominent on my penis.. Just a little bit of skin brown on the foreskin. A period I felt cold. I went to the doctor .. 2 actually.. And after consultation and radiography it was concluded that the problems it is dorsal nerves, pressed or compressed.. And it lasts until it is recover .. Between 6 months and 1 year .. Now when I write this it has been 7 months. The first one recommended me to take Mil gamma(and I take )second doctors say to take Cialis and N Large (and I do not have taken.. If I start with this .. At 60 years what do I take). After 4-5 months I felt that things started to improve .. But very slowly .. I get all the vitamins and minerals possible such as Vitamin C 1000mg, Vitamin E, Liv 52, Folic Acid, Zinc, Iron, Vitamin D, Milgamma (B1 and B6), Magnesium, Calcium, L-Arginine, Omega 3 and Omega 6, Gin Seng ,Vitamin B12, L-carnitine, Ginko biloba. I have many questions .. Why after sex I feel ok and all the senses are sharper .. But if I go 2-3 days they decrease in intensity .. As if penetration of blood into the penis is a good thing and then a whole time all the senses are ok .Is it just a nervous lesion? .. Or a venous? .. If a lymph channel is blocked, is it possible to have these feelings? .. If It pressed the veins at the base of the penis? .where the penis is catch the body .. And the blood have problems to go in the penis .. I understand that if the nerves are not ok and do not exist arousal the penis can’t get up.. But once it’s up there are moments when it’s die..

In the last two months things have begun to improve.. I feel it in my penis .. The morning’s wood is present.. More or less .. .but it is. I have moments when everything seems almost ok , it’s rigid , arousal does not feel it in the head , but the on the entire tree and the base. Is it possible that when the dorsal nerve is affected, it will not enter in erection only for 80% -90% ? If the veins or arteries are pressed and they stay like this and can’t go enough blood in the penis .. Or can not keep the blood .. Can they be remedied? Is it a problem with the veins valves ? If the ligament is stretched or damaged can I have such a feeling?

I take the tincture of wild chestnut and the tincture of garlic for possible blood clots in the veins or arteries, I understand it could help) .If I take aspirin or garlic .. Seems like something better .. I know they improve blood circulates .It was someone in such a situation? . Any opinion counts .Don’t lose hope. The body has miraculous healing powers. If I did not post ok, please move where It needed. Thank you.

That all sounds consistent with a healing nerve compression injury. Don’t worry about vein valve problems or venous lesions - they are an unlikely scenario and little can be done about that anyway. The ligament has nothing to do with it so that is not the problem.

The hardened vein you felt at the beginning was a thrombosed vein, the formation of a localized blood clot. That also has nothing to do with this persisting problem. When your vein softened after a few days, the clot broke up and was absorbed into your bloodstream. It has no lasting effect on your veins or erectile potency.

Nerve injuries can take a long time to fully recover. Stay patient. Promote regular bloodflow to the area.

My own numbness from hanging took 3 months to return to 100%, but the time can vary significantly depending on what length of nerve segment was damaged.

If you ride a bicycle a lot, it can compress the pudendal nerve and contribute to numbness. So if that is the case perhaps cut back on cycling while this heals.

Take a Break from It

Take a break perhaps from the PE. Keep going to the gym and staying healthy as well. Also use a light grip when masturbating as a harsh grip can stifle the nerve recovery in your penis. Regardless just continue to strive for improvements and you should gain feeling back.
