Androgen and Androgen Receptors?

Androgen and Androgen Receptors?

Does anyone have any articles or resources saved, about Androgens and their effect on penis growth and development? I’m going to be cycling some supplements for my weight training soon and was curious to the effect they could have. My searches have turned up empty thus far.

The search menu (top right of every page) can help you find previous posts on this subject. Using “androgen receptors” as keywords I found almost 75 threads.

Basically if you’re out of puberty androgen receptors have no effect on penis growth.

Supplements or “supplements”? :p

Anyway, if you’re out of puberty, forget about it.

What they said.

I have seen my testicles shrink, but that was from almost 1000mg test a week! Great for eq ; )

Not roids :p

And eh, still iffy on that. I started puberty very late (my penis has only developed to a normal kind of size within the last couple of years and my beard is still very patch, grown a little taller in the last year) so I’m curious if I can benefit from it at all. @WestLA I was talking more about peer reviewed research than past threads, but I’ll have a look through a few for any references.

What supplements are you talking about that could have significant impact on androgen levels?

D-Aspartic Acid, 3g daily. Significant impact remains to be seen, but there should be some effect.

Didn’t we all think he was talking about gear?

My mistake I guess.

I think D-Aspartic Acid falls into the category of testosterone boosters, not something that affects androgen receptors directly. The information I’ve seen on DAA is that it can possibly boost Test by about 30-40%, but that it also boosts prolactin and probably SHBG. Prolactin elevation is not good for refractory period and elevated SHBG could reduce free test, which is what you want to boost in the first place. Not sure what the differential elevation in free test and SHBG-bound test is while using DAA. As a supplement nut, I’ve tried DAA and was generally happy with the results, but probably had better results in test elevation (my subjective opinion) using an aromatase inhibitor like ATD or Formestane. I have run both in alternating 4 week cycles in the past.

For skeletal muscles, L-carnitine (not sure of the proper dose) supposedly increases androgen receptor density, making more receptors available to interact with free test. I doubt this would be of any herlp with PE, but who knows?

If you consider gear, there are a lot of threads that suggest that low doses of Andractim (DHT cream) applied topically to your junk will help with PE. I believe there may be some merit to this claim, but I like my prostate and hair too much to give this a shot.

Again, just my opinions, recollections and experiences, no endorsement or guarantee of anything implied.

I have L-carnitine as well. Wasn’t aware of the increased receptor density, so will research that further.

Gear will wait for many, many years. I think they certainly have their place, but while I can see reasonable progression without them, I will live without.

Hi veezee,
If you started your puberty late, you can potentially benefit from that..
It really depends on your age and most importantly on your DHT level (during puberty and current).
I cannot give you a link to an article, but I can share what I know.
During puberty a penis grows under influence of DHT (Dihydrotestosterone), which is derived from testosterone and produced in a skin of a penis. Testosterone directly does not make your penis grow. This is DHT and its receptors that determine a penis growth in puberty. By the way, DHT and its receptors also determine how hairy you can be.
If for some reason your body could not produce enough testosterone in puberty (and now) then you could have lack of DHT as well. That could cause your penis not to grow to its normal size. Another reason could be that DHT receptors were closed or not receptive enough to DHT.
The best way is to take a blood test for: TT, Estradiol and especially DHT.
If the tests show that your DHT level is below normal, you can potentially benefit from increasing your TT and especially DHT.
Of course, it all depends on DHT receptors in a penis.
That is why some people benefit from using Andractim (which is a DHT gel), although they are not young. That means their DHT at puberty was not high.
People with lack of androgens will benefit from using them.
As for people with normal level of androgens it is impossible to predict accurately. Some people will benefit, some not.

Good luck.

Thanks

B and T thanks that was detailed Very good

Estradiol

You guys think that sleping well below the reccommended hours for a teen (7 hours instead of 9 hours) would be enough to cause a reduction in DHT, however minimal, that over the course of say 5 or so years of 7 hours of sleep could result in a loss of size?

BPEL: 7.87" EG: 5.5" Mid Shaft, 5.8" Base, Crown (measuring around the ring): 6.00" (need to double check)

Sleep deprived throughout puberty, like a lot of other teens (maybe a little more on the worse side) - would that have effects on my penis growth? Hmmm I don't know but PE religiously and I'll be bigger than I ever could have been with the perfect lifestyle. At least I trained well, was skinny, ate well, didn't get any sever illness, didn't do drugs too much :)
