If marijuana inhibits DHT binding with androgen receptors, wouldn't it inhibit growth

If marijuana inhibits DHT binding with androgen receptors, wouldn't it inhibit growth

I recently observed this study, http://endo.end ojournals.org/c … tract/107/3/848

I’m not too intelligent science wise, but what this study seems to say is that marijuana greatly inhibits DHT binding with Androgen receptors. I came across it by reading a thread on a random site trying to claim marijuana would stop hair loss by inhibiting the DHT binding with the receptors on the scalp. Can anyone understand the numbers in the study and vouch that this is an accurate conclusion to make of it, and wouldn’t this mean that smoking would greatly inhibit penis growth, especially before 21, being that the DHT reacting with the receptors in the penis are what causes it to grow?

ray32, I wouldn’t give a fuck about this if I were you. All this is doing is putting fear into your head and dick thinking you have greatly reduced the size of your natural growth penis. DO NOT WORRY ABOUT IT. Besides sweating over something like this is going to make you smoke to calm down. People say whatever they want about drugs to keep them illegal ( propaganda works ) I would not be surprised if something happens in the body from the inhalation of marijuana, I mean shit your getting high after all, there definitely is an effect going on.

Yeah idk the thought just kills me I can’t let go of this, and I randomly stumbled upon the dht effect study, shit I was worried when I heard it lowered testosterone, but this is even worse. But no it won’t make me smoke to calm down, I have literally no addictive personality whatsoever, I stopped completely 4 months ago for my last basketball season without even reading this, and now that the season is over I’m smoking 1-2 times a week , but I don’t think I’m even going to do that anymore because it always makes me think about this topic and the paranoia kicks in making me have a really sad day. I’m just curious now because I may have minor growth left being only 18, and I want to know if its safe to puff once a week if I get over the bad highs or if I truly will be inhibiting growth. According to this study, doesn’t it seem to point out it has to inhibit growth if it stops dht from binding with androgen receptors?

If THC was binding to androgen receptors, it would inhibit balding, the nastiest side effect of DHT. I know plenty of balding and completely bald chronic pot smokers, which puts a bit of a strain on the argument. Smoking anything will inhibit blood flow and provide less oxygen to cells. But, unlike cigarettes, the act of smoking marijuana is typically short and spread out. 1-2 times a week, as long as it’s not getting in the way of your school, work, social interactions, etc is a perfectly alright thing to do.

As far as your bad highs. It might sound strange but, smoke and then go for a run or do something very physical. In the winter, a buddy and I will light up, go to the gym, and then pound a really nutritious meal. Sure, it’s not stereotypical and just being a vegetable on the couch, but it feels great and always makes the high so much better. Try it out and let me know what you think.

I agree, that smoking in general inhibits and worsens the blood flow, which eventually will impair the whole body negatively. If someone smokes a 10-30cigarettes a day, then surely it’s worse than smoking a joint.

Not smoking at all is the best though

That study should be a good enough reason to avoid marijuana at all, even though it doesn’t prove anything, because it’s not a human study
