Any reason this would grow hair really good

These are the ingredients for scalpmed.com they run infomercials late at night and charge a ridiculous amount of money for their product. They say they have a superior delivery system. Which my guess is the Propylene and if it is can you buy it and add it to generic Minoxidil 5% for a fraction of the price?

are you looking to add to your Propecia?

I already use generic 5% Minoxidil and Nizoral 1% shampoo and the Nizoral has really made a difference but if this company found a way to deliver the Minoxidil better I’m wondering if we can duplicate it.

I add a bit of DMSO to my minoxidil and shake it up before each application (I use it once daily). It’s about 2-3ml of DMSO per 60ml of minox. I bet this delivers a lot more minox to your hair follicles than anything that company is selling.

I’ve been doing this for well over a year, and nothing bad has come from it.

But are you growing hair with it?

I have never heard of using DMSO with a hair loss topical, but I have heard it’s use for other things.

THere are a bunch of home brew formulas ballyhoo’d at the hairloss forums.

Home brew formulas? I’ve tried to find USP powders to make my on home brew hairloss

topicals, but it wasn’t cost effective.

Home Made Hair Loss Formulas

It does smell worse than the plain minoxidil, but the smell doesn’t stick around for long.

Does it work? I haven’t been losing hair, and it combined with the finasteride has regrown most of what I have lost other than my hairline.

Tube mentioned homebrews. Definitely check out the hairloss forums like hairlosshelp.com for as much info as you could ever want on them. It’s experience with “oz brew” that convinced me to try mixing my own.

Stay away from the fancy minox formulations, minox is minox. I’ve been battling MPB for 10 years and I’m POSITIVE I know more about hairloss than most dermatologists alive. If you want to increase minox absorption then you can do as MDC said and add DMSO or you can apply your minox to a well-hydrated scalp. Adding Emu oil after a minox apllication at night is another method.

Watch for side effects like a racing heart etc.

I guess no one has a 10 buck a month miracle cure for thinning hair. So far I’m doing pretty good with my routine which is.

I wash my hair 4 times a week with Nizoral 1% I can’t say enough about this shampoo it has really helped. I also use Minoxidil 5% once a day at night which I think in it self it may have stopped future thinning. I also take generic Propecia 1.25 mg which I buy them in the 5mg size and break them in 4. Propecia has stopped all hair loss and has thicken my hair a lot it has also made hair that was super thin on area’s that were in retreat grow again and thicken up. And while I’m happy with the results and have gotten comments from people complementing me that I have a full head of hair I still know it’s not as thick as it used to be. I also don’t like taking Propecia I don’t like screwing with my hormones so I wish I could find something topical that really worked. I did have good success with Revoigen for a while it seemed to stop working after a while, well not stop working just not get past a certain point in thickness. Plus it wasn’t cheap and never lasted as long as it was suppose to.

You could try lower dosages of the finasteride. There’s not much benerfit to taking 1.25mg over .5mg or even .2mg from what I’ve read over the last few years.

I’m taking .33mg now, and things are about the same as when I was taking 1mg.
