Anyone tried that hangover medicine...

Advertised on TV and other places. The name escapes me, but I think it’s available at GNC, Walgreens, etc. I was thinking of trying it out for New Years.

The best hangover eleviator is pints/liters of water. The main side effects of a hangover come from the dehydration the alcohol causes in the body. During a drinking session make sure to have water aswel. When you arrive home also take 2 or 3 glasses of water. When you wake up drink well over a liter of water. Doing this minimises the effects of the hangover and also makes it go alot quicker. It works.

Another thing which will minimise the hangover is avoiding drinks which aren’t very pure. The contaminants in drinks make the hangover much more intense. Whisky, brandy, dark rum, red wine, lager etc have all got high amounts of contaminants which toxify the body and cause bad hangovers. Instead drink clear alcohols which are clear down to the lack of contaminants. Vodka, white rum, white wine, martini etc have all been highly distilled to make them pure. The clearer the drink, the purer it is and the less hangover you will get from it. Vodka is THE purest. Use only these clear drinks and drink lots of water.

Ah, my drinking days. How I miss them. Anyhow I used to take a glass of water inbetween every second glass or beer. Before I drove home. I would quit drinking for an hour and of course gulp down a ton of water in 5 or 6 glasses. Piss at the bar, then drive home. Racing home before I pissed myself. Then I went got home pissed like a racehorse and drank a few glasses before sleep. I woke up fairly well. Then took a bottle of water to school with me too. Damn 9:30 class!

A few times I drank till I got really bad when waking up. My calf muscles cramped up so bad, I crawled to a friend’s fridge and drank a gallon of water and crawled back to the couch.

So water is your friend.

Recieved my first hangover on January 1, 1984. Still wasn’t legal drinking age and that morning prayed I never would be.

OK so far no one has answered the question. Has anyone tried this pill and does it work??? I’ve been curious as well.

Meanwhile, since everyone else is giving their remedies, I’ll give mine as well…before you go to morning take more ibuprofen and non-carbonated caffeinated drink such as tea or cofee.

zeng, since the main cause of a hangover is the severe dehydration alcohol causes, a pill can’t get rid of a hangover unless you take it with loads of water. It may possibly take away some of the hangover symptoms by tackling the other things such as the toxins which cause part of the hangover, but it wouldn’t be able to tackle the main part of the hangover as that requires water.

zenglennc, with all due respect, dehydration is one the main causes of a hangover. There are three main causes. Severe dehydration, toxification of the liver and the depletion of neural chemicals in the brain.

The true cause of hangover:

Running out of liquor.
