Anyone heard of supplements, remedies, etc. that actually increase your appetite, especially how much food you can eat? I’ve heard of cinnamon but I’m looking for something a little more powerful.

Okay, so a few weeks ago I suddenly lost my appetite and began to panic. It took me a few tries but I finally found my own cure.
Here is a list of what I found work and why.

Exercise-increases calorie demand
Caffeine-increases cortisone and therefore hunger
Bitter greens(spinach or kale)-increase digestion and liver’s ability to process waste
Digestive enzymes-help break down foods

Last and most important is food combination in your diet. No hippie crap. Just don’t consume too much of anything at once and don’t mix foods like citrus and milk, hot foods and acids, and lay off the artificial sweeteners until you get your appetite back.

If none of these work then start by eating six times a day and slowly increase protein every week.

Avoid foods that are slow to digest. Avoid high fat and highly processed foods. Avoid eating three meals six hours apart and graze throughout the day about two to three hours apart. Stick to a schedule of eating so that your body adapts to and expects food on this schedule. Avoid drinking water before you eat, hydration is generally good but as an appetite suppressant not to increase appetite. Increase intensity of exercise.

I am not condoning or condemning it but two drugs may help. The first is marijuana and the second is periactin appetite stimulant.

Carbs increase appetite here.

Weightlifting does too, but cardio actually kills it.

Also you should avoid smoking.

Best appetite enhancer - pot. Hands down. Second best, LONG bike rides.

Agree with Musroomhook, but if you don’t want to smoke, I found exercise to be good for appetite.

I don’t smoke at all anymore. And I even try to minimize the use of the vaporizor - it’s not as bad as smoke but I still feel the effects of sucking crap into my lungs. I eat, and nearly exclusively tincture. And I ride my bike several hundred miles each week. So consequently I’m perpetually hungry. :p

There is yet another option besides marijuana. It’s wormwood! It contains chemical properties similar to the THC in Mary Jane except it will only increase appetite, not get you high.

Look for a strong pure tincture or capsules for the strongest dose. I would avoid marijuana recreationally and not for severe illnesses because of the preference for pleasure over pain which could mean avoiding pe for time watching tv or playing games.
