Canadians who buy L-Arginine come here

Where do you get L-Arginine in Canada? How much does it cost? (in Canadian Dollars thank you very much). I don’t have a prescription and probably won’t need one for a long time. Is it illegal to get it in Canada or something? Why? Thanks alot to anyone who can help!

Thanks memento. I’d seen the food post already, but not the suggestion that someone in the U.S. mail it. I was kind of hoping that a Canadian here had found a web-site or mail-order company that would deliver in Canada, but beggars can’t be choosers I suppose. One thing bugs me though… If you can get L-Arginine from regular food, why is the straight substance banned in Canada?

Does anyone here want to help out your friendly neighbour to the north? :) . I’m in Alberta so ideally you’d have to be close to that to save costs.

I know it’s dangerous. Those mounties always get their man. And they’re now newly equipped with top-of-the-line ROCKS AND TWIGS!!! (please note the extreme use of sarcasm in the preceeding sentence).

Seriously now… The Canadian police couldn’t catch something like this if they tried… which they wouldn’t. If anything customs would just send it back, which would mean I had wasted my money.

Man, everything is banned in canada, our Mountain Dew doesn;t even have caffeine in it.

Energy drinks (at least ones that work ie: have caffeine) such as red bull and rockstar are banned in Canada. That doesn’t stop me from smuggling ‘em though. I’m planning on picking up some Arginine next time I go down. That’s how I buy it.

I’ve ordered L-Arginine from GNC, and had zero troubles getting it across the border. See, L-Arginine isn’t BANNED here, but for whatever reason, it just can’t be SOLD in the pure form. I ordered from the Billings, Montana GNC. Funny thing, the dudes at the GNC here in Canada told me to do this. So, check it out, get out yer Visa, and Giddyup!

Well, all I can say is give it a shot. If you look at some supplements on the shelves, they have L-arginine in them. I have no idea why it can’t be sold in pure form; you can buy other amino acids in pure form, like L-glutamine. When i talked to the guy in Billings, he didn’t even blink an eye at the fact i was ordering from Canada. All I can say is, give it a shot. If you have doubts, talk to guys in Canada AND the states. By the way, where are you in Canada?

About them selling it in other supplements, I know that caffeine is illegal to add to beverages (such as Mountian Dew, Red Bull, etc), but it is perfectly legal in Coca-Cola and coffe, because it occurs naturally in those. That may have something to do with the fact that they can sell it in Canada.

As for the guy in Billings not caring about you being in Canada, it’s not a crime to attempt to send a banned product across a border, because you aren’t physically carrying it on you (or at least you can’t be prosecuted. For example, I know a guy who sells Cuban cigars on the internet, and over 90% of his business is shipping them to the United States.
Plus, it is unlikely that the guy even knew that it was banned in Canada.

I ordered a supplement once from the USA, that wasn’t avaiable to Canada. I waited and waited after about 4 months, my purchase was refunded, because they considered it lost. It wasn’t until I was returning from a trip to SE ASIA, that I soon found out what had happen to my order. As customs swiped my passport, the computer made a noise, and was pulled a side for searching. I asked what the problem was? They said that i had tried to smuggle steroids into the country, using the postal service, that I was now flagged for 7 years, and would have to go through this each time I re entered the country. So basically Iam screwed for 7 years for ordering a supplement that contained a mild androgen. I would try a specialty supplement store here in Canada, not GNC. They often carry allot of these products behind the counter, you just have to ask.
