Cayenne, CLA and Blood Pressure.

Cayenne, CLA and Blood Pressure.

Hey everyone,
Sorry I can’t put this in Supplements because of my status, but I wanted to mention some good changes I noticed with the above supplements.

I’ve been getting back in shape after years of letting myself go. In the past 8 months, I’ve gone from about 24% body fat to about 17% body fat. I quit smoking, and I workout 5-6 days a week. My approach to being overall fit. I’m in good cardiovascular shape but I’m pre-hypertensive.

I take my blood pressure regularly, and have noticed a definite decrease in my blood pressure over the past 3 days of taking either Cayenne or CLA, or both. And, when I say I regularly take my blood pressure, I mean about 5-6 times a day over the past month.

My typical blood pressure is about 135/77. In the last month since I’ve stopped drinking coffee and have gone to teas, my BP went to about 132/75. With the addition of just these supplements, but BP has fallen to 125/72.

I don’t know whether my blood is thinning out, or whether my blood vessels are regaining elasticity (cayenne is supposed to do). I don’t really know of any effects CLA is supposed to have on blood pressure. Overall, I noticed a positive change in my blood pressure and wanted to pass along the thought of encouraging people to check out Cayenne as an herb..

If you think that the CLA has had a positive effect (but I haven’t lost any weight yet), please let me know.

I moved it for you, FLguy222.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I’m glad that cayenne and CLA are working out for you. There have been a number of positive health effects associated with hot peppers:

For Lampwick, becoming hung like a donkey was the result of a total commitment.

Exercise in itself has lowered your bp cayenne lowers it and tea lowers it. I don’t know about CLA but you can pin some of your weight loss on all three supplements. The three do help with weight loss especially CLA. You can lower your blood pressure even more if you switch from black tea to green tea. Congrats on your weight loss.

Speak softly carry a big dick, I'm mean stick!

Thanks for the move Lampwick..

Appreciate that kingpole.

There are a number of factors that could lead to a total lowering of blood pressure. But to have such a significant, measurable change over the past 3 days I find remarkable, and most likely attributable to the Cayenne (but I have to mention that I started taking CLA at the same time).

I agree with you about the teas too. I drink Black when I need a little caffeine jolt and green the rest of the day. Total about 5 -8 cups a day.

I stepped up my regular BP readings when I first began to notice the dip in BP from drinking the teas. This last change was just to drastic, and would appear to be from something new.

FLguy, in what form did you take cayenne? How much? How often?

If you mix cayenne in a yogurt sauce or chocolate milkshake does this nullify it’s health effects or do you still get the benefits?

Keep in mind that unless you’re drinking decaf green tea, green tea still has caffeine:

ChuckR,

I’m taking a(1) 450 mg capsule twice daily. It is Cayenne (Capsicum annuum) (fruit). I just grabbed the vitamin world brand off the self, kinda hoping to share my PE gains with the cute salesgirl.

Kingdong,
I wouldn’t think it would nullify the effect. I’m guessing that you are referring to the other food products being bases.

Since I’m taking capsules I’m guessing that it wouldn’t combine with the food. If the food was to combine with the other food products, I’m going to guess that even then the cayenne effect would not be neutralized. I would guess that it is the compounds of cayenne that produce the effect, not the ‘hotness’..

Although honestly I don’t know in the end..

Also, just started with a bunch of others: arginine, rhodiola rosea and a few others.. Also saw a drop in tonights pressure.. Will watch for a few days to see if there is real change.

Ok thanks lol.

Yeah I mean the neutralising effect of the milk/yogurt.

Youre missing garlic. Add it immediately and youll see a huge difference. I suffer from pre-hypertension to the point where I need a water pill. Since Ive added odorless garlic to my supplements, my blood pressure has lowered significantly. I use the Kyolic Formula 106 version. Send me a pm when you notice its effects.

Nice to see people taking about their bloodpressure instead talking about ephedra and anything else giving you hypertension.

I’m in my early 20’s (no more overweight) and I used to measure my bloodpressure 1 month ago: I got 140, I stopped because I got finals and I’m sure there is no improvement at this time.

I do some running twice a week and take a garlic supplement. But I’m pretty sure it’s because of the whole stress and my bad nervs because I read an article where it was said it come from chronic stress. I’m going to see a doc after the finals to see what’s up.
