Not bad Viroid,
You know more than most of my collegues. However, here’s the final word. Estradiol, is as you said very important to sex drive in men, this is why both femara and arimidex are used at very low doses (1/4 of the official dose and only twice a week due to the fact that the drug binds the aromatase enzyme for up to three days) 1/5 of a femara pill is actually effective. If used at the recommended doses, you wipe out estrogen and a your libido as well, I know many people who took too much femara and temporarily decreased their libido. In men over 40 or overweight men the aromatase enzyme is too active so tweaking it with these meds at low doses works wonderfully.
As for clomid and nolvadex, they will raise testosterone levels by blocking estrogen receptors in the hypothatmus, and since the body uses estrogen levels as part of the negitive feedback loop to determine testosterone levels, blocking estrogen receptors in the brain will fool the body into thinking it has low estrogen levels and low testosterone levels. The brain then tells the pituitary gland to tell the testicles to produce more testosterone. It works well, unfortunately these drugs are what are known as estrogen agonist/antagonist meds and they block estrogen receptors in some tissues and activate estrogen receptors in other tissues. The bad part is they activate estrogen receptors in muscle tissues, so even though they raise testosterone levels, they shrink your muscles, which alot of men, especially those who work out do not want. If smaller muscles doesnt bother you then these are the best choice. If smaller muscles are not desirable, then low dose femara or arimidex would be better choices for men over 40 looking to enhance their testosterone production. Of course one should always consult their physician.
