DHT destroying hair therapy an issue?

DHT destroying hair therapy an issue?

Hey guys,

So I was looking at going on Finasteride, which is for hair loss. It blocks the production of DHT, But after reading about here about DHT being beneficial for penis enlargement, would this be a bad thing to do if I want to see progress?

I tried to find some other threads but only found DHT cream/gel threads so sorry if somebody has asked before.

Thanks!

I’m not sure about PE, but I do know that one of the common side effects of Finasteride is long term loss of libido and ED that for some people persists even a year after stopping Finasteride…
That’s why I quickly discounted it as something I’d ever use. Fuck that!!! I’d rather be bald than lose my libido.

I’ve been using minoxidil foam for the last 4-5 years.

It pretty much stopped my hair loss for the most part. I apply it all over the top and upper back of my head twice a day, once in the morning after I shower, and once in the evening.

I also went through significant weight loss and I notice that when I lose weight continuously for a couple of months, I also lose a bit of hair… this hair loss is probably not dependent on DHT and therefore the minoxidil doesn’t prevent it…

I’ve had significant hair loss since going on TRT. I was aware that was a normal side effect when I started. I’m not worried about it. If it starts getting patchy I’ll just shave my scalp.

It’s too late for testosterone to make your dick bigger; the window for that closes at puberty. But it can help with erection quality, libido, erectile dysfunction, weight loss, and general health. How much it helps varies according to the type of testosterone used, the dosage, and how the individual patient responds.

If you want to try something that’s unlikely to have the hormone disrupting effect you might want to try Wild Growth Hair Oil, a dermaroller and maybe some castor oil.

I’ve seen semi significant progress using the 1st two and occasionally castor oil within the last 3-5 months after inexplicably and distressingly suffering a peculiar hairloss in my mid teens.

Oh cool, I’m using minoxidil oil stuff. Did you notice any regrowth?

In some people finasteride may result in decreased libido but you will not experience decrease PE results from taking it on the basis of decreasing DHT levels post puberty.

You can look into the following

Minoxidil both topical and oral
Oral and topical dutasteride
Topical retin A to scalp
Microneedling at a depth of 0.75 -1.5mm
Topical anti-androgen. I favor pyrilutamide
Nizoral shampoo.

Sorry it took me so long to read this…

I don’t know that I’ve noticed regrowth, maybe a tiny bit before I started losing weight.

Losing weight made me lose a little more hair.

I lost 85lb a few years ago, then I kind of stabilized, and my hair loss stabilized.

Then I had a kid and over the following year gained a little (like 20lb).
Over the last year and a half, I lost that weight and am back to the lowest I’ve ever been, but with more muscle mass, so I’ve lost more fat than the weight difference indicates, and I’m trying to go a little farther until I have a visible 6 pack, and I’m experiencing more hair loss despite the minoxidil…
The top of my head and the crown is where the hair loss is concentrated.

Really annoying, but my dad’s been bald since long before I was born (same for both grandfathers), so part of me always knew it was most likely going to happen…. I’ve already made it a decade and a half longer than my dad…
My younger brother is also farther along, but he’s just letting it go…
