Do you think myostatin inhibitors will ever replace anabolic steroids?
I’ve often wondered why myostatin is synthesized by our bodies at all. I mean, looking at it from a totally Darwinistic standpoint, wouldn’t the gene for a natural lack of myostatin be the dominant one? As a believer in the selfish gene theory, I don’t see how it wouldn’t. Nonetheless, I’m no expert (not even a self-proclaimed one) in genetics, hormones or supplements, but still I’d like some expert opinions on this. Being that a myostatin inhibitor would have almost nill negative side effects (as there are animals and people born without the ability to synthesize myostatin on their own and they are very healthy), do you forsee it ever replacing (the more dangerous) steroids?
