If I use a product already at bedtime that has 1500mg arginine and 300mg of ornithine. How would it be to just add a 500mg alcar capsule to the mix? Would it be a bad thing with that much ornithine?

It does make you enjoy your PE workout more and it does make your flaccid hang more but I can’t say it makes your penis bigger. It does help you grow muscle though.

Anytime I have added to much ornithine I have gotten to much energy and haven’t been able to sleep and when I do sleep its anything buy restful. If you did try it I would do it on a night you didn’t have to get up early.

Sounds interesting I might give it a try soon, used to take l-arginine before bed and seem to help morning wood but whenever I take the common amino’s for better blood flow (arginine, orthinine, histidine, Citrulline Malate) I always seem to sweat like a pig,

Have you experienced anything like that Dino9X7?

If I mix to much ornithine in I get the bed sweats along with tossing and turning and a restless sleep when I can sleep at all.

Dino,

Are you using the same mix as you had previously 500 mg Acetyl-L-cartinine and 25 mg L-orthinine?

Are you using the resveratrol or ginseng with your mix?

Interesting thread!

But why in the world do you have to mix the ingredients before taking them? Is it that you can’t find pills with the right amount of the ingredients? It all mixes in the belly, but you know that so what am I missing?

You need the balance right, and their isn’t a pill like this made up.

Acetyl-l-carnitine boosts mitochondrial ATP production, ATP is produced by a chemical process known as “oxidative phosphorylation” byproducts of this reaction are superoxide and hydrogen peroxide, both are radicals which cause cellular and dna damage and lead to an advancement of the aging process and hence acetyl-l-carnitine may increase the rate of cellular aging.

In a study on rats, acetyl-l-carnitine failed to increase longevity unless coupled with ALA (alpha lipoic acid) neither ALA alone, or carnitine alone demonstrated any clinically relevant life-extending properties, combined they increased both life-span and youthful behaviour in aging rats.

There a number of anti-oxidants which have effects at a mitochondrial level, and which boost the production of an important anti-aging enzyme called: “superoxide dismutase” I would recommend combining these with acetyl-l-carnitine.

R Alpha Lipoic Acid will completely negate any oxidative stress encountered by using alcar.

Sophomoric, what are some of these anti-oxidants that boost the production of SOD(superoxide dismutase) within the cell? I know of supplements containing SOD, but I’m not sure it makes it through the digestive process in one piece, so i imagine that intracellular production would be more effective in quenching free radicals, yes?

I’m going to start this back up again, I got to order some fresh stuff.

I’m surprised this thread is so quiet when it has shown such positive results for guys like Sparky and Dino. I’ll be purchasing some L-Ornithine myself and some milligram scales to try this out, I’m glad I trawled back through the old threads to find this.

Abstract

A new technique for controllable elevation of night time growth hormone (GH) release in adult humans involves a synergy between oral intake of the naturally occurring compounds acetyl-L-carnitine (500 mg) and L-ornithine (25-100 mg) taken at night time sleep after a 3 to 4 hour fast. The set point for normal hypothalamic GH release appears to include a ‘whole body’ mitochondrial State 3 status ‘feed back loop’ controlled by systemic acetyl- L-carnitine levels.
