Testosterone, DHT and DHEA have an ability to cause the release of Nitric Oxide (1) in the penis. Which in turn causes a much harder erection. The question is if it causes hyperplasia. The answer looks to be not in a significant fashion. The maturity of the tunica is what causes the end of growth during puberty. If the tunica wasn’t so difficult of a limiting factor, then growth might come all through life. Unfortunately, it is the limiting factor we are all fighting.
As for some who have claimed large gains with either T or an equivalent, it is likely that they first had a deficiency of DHT before treatment and reacted better because of that. There is a great deal of evidence supporting sensitivity of androgen receptors (2) as compared to the number of them.
In conclusion, it may help those who havent been doing PE for long or have a weak tunica but it wont do much for those who have engaged in PE for long periods of time or have a tough tunica. It is likely that Jones would have gained just the same amount by doing PE as he gained with 4ad.
