Green tea - bad or good?

Many people don’t like it just because they “burn” it. I used to be one of them.

Please try it and say if it’s any better.

Interesting, I didn’t know that was possible. I’ll try not to burn it next time and see how it tastes then.

Using boiling-hot water - and letting it steep too long - are two effective ways to make green tea taste worse. It overextracts the less-tasty stuff.

Well I alone found that out not that long ago(maybe 2 years back?). Even though I like it, when someone makes it for me It’s usually bitter as hell and undrinkable.

Probably the caffeine. I’ve never been a coffee drinker.

Lipton makes decaf green tea, Decaf green tea taste better than regular green tea. Now about the chest pain. You need to go see the doctor about that very very soon. Green tea typically nullifies it’s own caffeine. The amino acid theanine has a calming effect on the body. It should not cause chest tightness.

Yes, you CAN get decaf green tea, but I called Celestial Seasonings and asked them about it - they had to admit that the decaffeination process also gets ride of most of the healthful nutrients. All you have left is green tea taste.

I try and drink 2-4 cups of tea a day - sometimes green, sometimes black, sometimes oolong, sometimes pu-ehr. Tea is great for you.

Why don’t you use capsules for the arginine? I can’t imagine putting that stuff in my tea! Come to think of it, I wouldn’t put cumin in my tea either! You should get one of those cheap (>$10) capsule filling “machines” and make your own capsules.

Point well taken. If you’re extracting caffeine, you have to wonder what else is being extracted. I’ve heard they have a way to separate the extracted caffeine from the other extracts and add the balance of the extracts back in, but still, extracted is extracted, and it’s not the same as if it had never been manipulated to begin with.

I use a full teaspoon of AEE which dissolves fairly well in a cup of bottled tea. I drink it down quickly and wash it down with regular green tea. No mess no fuss.

Doesn’t most green tea leaf contain unhealthy levels of Fluoride? I read somewhere that only the younger and thus smaller leaves should be used for this reason (which would give a sweeter taste too).

I went through a Green Tea phase. I drank over a hundred cups within 3 months. It was in large part all lipton tea bags.

However from what I have read online, lipton uses a low quality tea, as do many other common makers for their tea bags. Some claimed it was not even good for you, which is why I quit wasting my money.

The best thing to do is to get real green tea, or quality tea from a source. I have yet to do this, but you need quality loose tea to get the real benefites.

Good or bad for what? Depending on whether you mean cancer, stroke, testosterone, weight loss, weight gain, it can be good or bad depending on the particular thing you’re talking about.

Well, all I know is that after not drinking the green tea/regular tea mixture for about a week, my chest stiffness and irregular heartbeat went away.
Same thing happened when I was drinking a green tea mix from a caterer at work. My heart was pounding from just sitting at my desk.
I stopped buying it and the problem disappeared.

Now I am drinking a half decaf/half herbal iced tea mixture and have had no problems.

Hmm, I leary of restaurant brewed any-kind of tea. No one cleans the pot and often times the tea spoil before the end of the day. They will still serve it the next day. Tea can be toxic if it is spoiled. It should be drank quickly when brewed and stored in the fridge for more than three days. After three days it should be thrown out.

Still I would go have the tightness checked by a doctor.

Or, what else is being left behind (solvents) depending on the method. Decaffeination - Wikipedia

I drank Green Tea + Honey, then had a spontaneous erection for the first time in a while, and morning wood the next day for the first time in a while.

Coincidence? I don’t know. But I plan on drinking more now.
