Grey Hair, Overnight.

Para-Goomba, I’m well aware of the many rip-offs out there… Fortunately there are laws that protect those who can read well, or with a little knowledge. I checked the ingredients, and it looked like crap. By their logic, anyone with a “melanin deficiency” is gonna go grey… yep, and that’s why black people never go grey… right.

jGman, I don’t really ever show outward signs of stress. I find, that, in certain cases, it’s detrimental to one’s continued well-being: however, it’s affected my hair! I’ve lost three patches of hair, one from my left chest, another from my left jaw, and a third from the back of the left side of my head… weird.
Now, my dark, black hair is greying. Ack. Very noticable…

Oh and jGman: You can call me G, or you can call me GM, or you can call me GMaster, or GlandMaster.

But ya doesn’t have ta call me “Gland”. ;)

Copper Supplements are reported to bring back the natural tint of your hair. Perhaps colloidal copper? Stress makes the hair go more gray also.

My bad, GlandMaster. Hey, it could’ve been worst. Luckily, I didn’t use ‘Glans’; then it would be akin to calling you a di…nevermind.

Anyhow, it sounds to me like you might have some stress going on there. Hair falling out in patches is a pretty good indication of that. You mention you don’t ever show outward signs of stress. Do you mean you tend to keep things bottled up? I know I get these odd gray hairs. There’s really no pattern to it. Just a few grays here and there.

I use hair care products from Aveda. They have shampoos and conditioners (all natural organic-type stuff) that are great for hiding the gray or naturally blending it in with your hair. I have dark brown hair and use their Black Malva Shampoo and Conditioner. It contains a natural dye (temporary) from the Black Malva plant that helps make the gray less noticeable. They make similar products for other hair colors also.

I would try something like what J Meister uses if I were graying.

Fascinating study here connecting graying and melanoma .

J Meister, you Metrosexual, you, I knew I could count on you for advice on Personal Grooming… :D I will search out these products… are they found only in salons?

P-G you continually surprise me with your interesting facts & knowledge, you are wise beyond your years.

Junior Gra… er.. jGman, no harm done, amigo. :D Thanks for pointing it out, you’re absolutely right. I’ve been in situations that make others turn into Screaming Piles of Jell-O® on the floor, and still been cool. I was a leader at an early age, and was groomed and taught not to show any visible signs of stress and to perform under pressure. It actually un-nerves some people.

I am confident, however, that I am heading into my finest hour.

GlandMaster —

I didn’t notice the part about losing patches of hair. Is it possible you have alopecia areata ?

Glandmaster,

Yes, I fear that I may have evolved into a metrosexual over the past couple of years. Although, I don’t spend a lot of money on comestics. Just the basics. My wife buys the Aveda products at the Aveda store in a large shopping mall near here. I would assume that like any other mall store, there are Aveda stores in malls throughout the country. The Aveda stuff is not cheap; however, they do have a frequent shampooer(?) card that gives you some money off after you make a few purchases. I’ve also seen that the day spa in the mall below my office tower sells Aveda. My wife and daughters use Aveda products exclusively for their hair. Let me know if you get your hands on some.

LOL! My wife uses Aveda stuff too - it’s expensive as hell. Thankfully, they have a store in Chandler because she used to have to drive to Scottsdale to get the stuff.
