Lysine is what you want in massive dosages. Not the other amninos you mention.

Deniver Ointment (spelling?) Is excellent but you need a script.

lysine is good but cold sores are viral and cannot be permanently eradicated the break up mainly due to stress factors

I get them every couple years mostly when I’m worn out, pissed off and/or stressed out. If you know your body, you know when you are most susceptible so start treating yourself early. I drink tons of water, down many Lysine throughout the days before, during and after. I also keep a bunch of little Abreva tubes around. It’s the only combination I found that works for me.

Abreva is the ONLY medication that works in my opinion. All others simply treat the symptoms with camphor and methol (Tiger Balm). Abreva basically stops the cold sore in it’s tracks and prevents it from affecting surrounding cells and getting any larger. I have to order it from America because they don’t sell it in Australia for some dumb reason. Naturally, the sore will run it’s course but the size will be contained which is most important because you then don’t need to heal when the thing is gone and you continue look like a leper for another week.

I think I have narrowed it down who gave it to me. When I first came to Australia, I caught a train to Melbourne and was chatting with this chick for awhile. It was good. When it was her stop she insisted that she kiss me. Flattering, yes, but I think the bitch infected me.

What about Zovirax? that stops most cold sores from developing although there are some cold sores that need medical treatment those that break up in the edge of the nose.

A good natural remedy for cold sores is rubbing them with garlic. Cut a piece of garlic in half and hold it on the cold sore for 10 minutes. Repeat about 5 times through the day. Cheap and effective.

What are massive dosages? I will be taking 1g of L-Arginine/day.

or do you mean if I am taking 1500mg of L-Lysine I should take 500 500 500 separated?

Yeah, my last cold sore was around new years. I don’t trip out with cold sores because the majority of people haven’t a clue what they are. lol and the majority of the population has the gift anyways.

Not interested in other, strange medications man. I only get cold sores around my mouth and when I do, it is 1.

I like garlic on my black beans and rice, not my face. :P
