Is there a Coral Calcium expert in the house

12

I’d avoid coral calcium because of the high risk of heavy metal contamination. Coral Calcium is better absorbed than Calcium Carbonate, but not as well absorbed as Calcium Citrate. I buy Citrical Plus (w/ Magnesium, D, and other minerals). It’s only $10 for a big jar of 150 tablets. It used to be A LOT more expensive, but Calcium Citrate prices have come way down in the last couple of year. Lots of new competition, I guess. Citrical used to have the Calcium Citrate market mostly to itself.

Calcium is Calcium FFS. Just because it used to be a chunk of coral doesn’t make it better IMO. What is their sales pitch?

“Infused with bio-marine energy”?

I must say that I have taken Coral Calcium and had a reduction in any problems in my gastrointestinal tract from colitis. I took it for a month and found that I did feel better, but was also taking 6,000 mg of Omega 3 Fish Oil Caplets too. The Coral tabs allowed me to take only 1 Amodium AD Advanced a day instead of the usual two to reach the same effect.

I really do want to take it again and see what is going on and whether I can accurately pinpoint what is working.

Didn’t you know this special stuff cures cancer, makes blood cells unstick, etc.? The natives where this coral is gathered live to be 130 years old, prancing around like teenagers the whole time, fucking like bonobos. Buy this and you can do the same.

I guess Aussies must not have the pleasure of being pestered with the Barefoot “infomercials” at hours when real TV programming used to be on.

TT says:

Some folks with IBS have reported good results from taking calcium supplements. They didn’t take Cal’s Fishy Super Coral Pills, just plain ole calcium.

hob, we only get infomercials at 2 in the morning over here, when nobody sane is still awake.

Thererfore, I occasionally catch a glimpse of what my abs would look like if I purchased an ab-roller, ab-cruncher ab-slider, or one of several dozen other similar devices…

Secjay in reference to Informercials in OZ.

Do they dub the speaking into your strange dialect? I can’t imagine Tony Robbins being voiced over by Jacko as he screams Energizer at the end of every sentence.

Hobby,

I think the Omega 3s have been the best to halve the medicine I was forced to take. The calcium also halved that too I think but not sure. Maybe my ass was just dormat and not set to Volcano mode that month and I lucked out.

No doubt Omega-3’s are important, but….

Do a search and some reading in the google newsgroup archives on the group alt.support.ibs using calcium as a search term. Might also see what’s been posted in other groups and on the web lately. I’ve read several plausible anecdotes of IBS’ers feeling much better when taking calcium with meals - in some cases total alleviation of symptoms.

twat, yeh they dubb them sometimes…

But they usually don’t bother with crappy infomercials that are on at 2 in the morning. They usually only bother with TV commercials that are on during waking hours.

It very obvious and irritating. The voice actors try to put on semi-american accents just to fit in with the lip movements. Fuck I hate that shit.
