The risk is a drop in blood pressure. Both things lower it temporarily.
However, one would have to take unusually large doses of Arginine for it to make a significant drop.
With any of the Viagra/Cialis/Levitra family (or their generic equivalents) drugs the risks are greater.
When I was working out intensely I was taking a lot of Arginine as part of a whole program of amino acids. I was taking 3000 mg three times a day, structured around the workout program. I occasionally also used Liquid C, a generic Cialis mimic, at about a 30 mg dose (which is high - brand name Cialis dose is 20 mg).
On a couple of occasions I would get a little light headed and was made easily dizzy. This can be a sign that your blood pressure is a bit lower than usual. I also noticed a feeling cramping in my neck. This most common if the Liquid C was taken near to the time of the Arginine.
I eventually scaled back the Arginine, and spaced out the Liquid C a little and those symptoms went away.
I thought I’d share, because though the risks are not super high; nonetheless they exist. You can’t just load up on everything under the sun and expect only the benefits.
Be careful, and pay attention.
