Nootropics!

Nootropics!

This is my ultimate stack. All natural as well, considering there are tons of synthetic nootropics out there.

-higher quality sleep
-increased test levels
-increased mood
-increased/sustained energy
-higher focus
-increased memory/cognitive skills

The Vitamin D3 with the K2 isn’t a nootropic but I order it with them and it is just as powerful. Vitamin D is huge.

What do y’all think? Who else uses nootropics? Let’s chat. By the way, Ksm-66 is a concentrated stronger version of ashwagandha.

I’ve taken B12, but it didn’t do anything I could notice. I might have sufficient B12 already.

I sometimes take 5-HTP, which gives a boost in alertness and pushes the brain fog back noticeably. But the effects only last two or three hours. I haven’t noticed any untoward side effects.

sulbutimine is what you need. I took one of pill of that with a big B vitamin complex in the morning everyday and wrote my whole dissertation on it, totally focused and exuberant to do the work and write over 12 hours a day. When I repeat the dosing and instead decide to play with my cock…it is quite exhilarating to say the least and there is no lack of interest or excitement to pleasure myself or have my wife do it to and with me ;)

Starting length, Spring 2003: bpel 6 3/8", bpfsl ~6 1/2", flaccid ~3-4" (never measured flaccid stretched or hanging flaccid; starting girth was probably ~5"-5 1/4")

Summer 2004: bpel 7 7/8", bpfsl 8 1/8", flaccid ~4", erect girth 5.3"

Spring 2018: bpel 7 1/4", bpfsl 7 5/8", erect girth 5 1/8"; Spring 2020: bpel 7 3/4", bpfsl 8", erect girth 5 3/8". Current - August 2023: bpel 7 3/4", bpfsl 8", erect girth mid shaft 5 1/4" (5 1/2" at base)

I’ve been experimenting with nootropics. As I mentioned upthread, I found a noticeable but brief boost from 5-HTP and I couldn’t tell any effect from B12.

Since then I’ve tried:

lecithin: can’t really tell it does anything.

gingko biloba: it *does* help. I was skeptical, but there’s a detectable increase in alertness when taking it. It lasts all day, unlike 5-HTP.

Next on the list is DMAE.

Trying to determine the effectiveness a nootropic is difficult. Programming is noticeably easier with 5-HTP or gingko. Still a painful slog compared to the days before the first stroke, though.

There may also be some placebo effect, but after considering it for a while, I decided I’ll take what I can get.

My main doctor panicked when he did a blood lab on me some weeks ago. The keto diet skews some results from “normal”. I stopped taking all supplements and went back to the “Standard American Diet” for two weeks so he could get normalized labs; they came back satisfactorily. I’ve resumed most of the supplements, except for the nootropic ones, which I will be resuming soon.

I mentioned upthread that I had good results from 5-HTP and gingko biloba. However, they’re not *quantifiable* results. Feeling smarter doesn’t mean I’m actually doing any better than I was before.

There are online cognition tests, but they’re short, and I have a pretty good memory; once I’ve seen one, I’ll probably remember the answers years later. I’ve found more comprehensive tests, but they’d still be pretty much one-shot deals, plus with the ones I’ve taken, I feel their scoring is questionable.

What I’ve mostly interested in are problem solving tests, but those are rare, and not something you can DIY, since you already know the answer.

I can test short-term memory by writing something to spit out random numbers and/or words and see how many I can remember for a few minutes. Those little drugstore “find-a-word” puzzle books would probably be good for spotting onset of Alzheimer’s, but I don’t think they would be too useful otherwise.

Anyway, if anyone has any ideas about quantifying nootropic results, I’d like to hear them.

I use caffeine through coffee at mornings and evenings, total for the day something around 200~400mg, taurine 250~750mg to take out the anxiety sympton that comes through coffee and it also helps with the metabolic way of the dopamine in the body (I think it is that or something like that) that way I can focus better at studying for 2~3 hours nonstop. Some older men recommend taking 2~5g of taurine to really act as a nootropic, but for me 250~1000mg already helps.

This is a reddit page I have as favorite on my computer that have some people talking about taurine >> Taurine is one of the best Nootropics: Change my mind : Nootropics

The #1 and #2 ‘nootropics’ I’ve taken are water and sleep. If either of those is lacking my cognition suffers terribly. That said, I’ve played with some sexier nootropics as well

While most of the stimulants give me a a little boost, moderation is key as too much leads to anxiety that can really mess with my focus. Ephedrine is a fave and if I need to go high dose caffeine I’ll usually go with green tea as the l-theanine really does seem to help with the anxiety I can get when I take a lot. I have not tried any illicit stimulants

The coolest results I’ve experienced have come from piracetam and aniracetam. If I’m not eating whole eggs when I do this I usually supplement choline along with one or the other. I’d like to try more racetams, oxiracetam in particular. I notice mood boosting effects as well as faster processing and recall. Aniracetam gets this introvert chatty somehow so I usually save it for social events

I have supplemented lion’s mane; I believe in the science that backs it up but I didn’t feel anything… perhaps it takes more time, I need a higher dose or it was too gradual of an effect for me to notice over the few months that I took it. I’d take it again if I could find a cheap, legit source

From what I’ve read, bacopa and semax are also solid choices and together with lion’s mane have a rep for making improvements that last beyond supplementation. If I get to a point in my life/career where I need to compete with brain power again, I’ll take these with water and sleep long-term, with the racetams and stimulants as needed

Glad to see this thread has gotten some attention. Been away for awhile so I’ll post my updated stats. Will make this post brief because Ian busy but I definitely will come back and post more.

As of now my stack is:

Morning
-tongkat ali 200mg
-Agmatine sulfate 750mg

Afternoon
-vit D3/K2 10,000 iu
-ALCAR 1 gram

Evening
-Nigella sativa 200mg 10%
-cistanche 200mg
-ZMA’s

I feel fucking amazing. My focus was energy, drive motivation, libido, strength/muscle gains and overall well being. All of those boxes have been checked. I’m starting to nerd out on nootropics and love it. Plan to add a new one to my stack soon. I’ll keep y’all posted.

Oh, and I completely dropped the ashwagandha and lions mane. The internet these days are full of just the positive benefits of these but the negative effects seem to be much less in sight. These can cause anhedonia and lm pretty sure I experienced that. Also lions mane isn’t the best for testosterone. So ya, no more of those.

I had a cardiology appointment a couple of weeks ago; the doc asked about the nootropic stack I described, and asked how I could tell how effective it was. I told him that quantifying things were difficult, but I’d settle for “feeling better” or even “placebo” if it came down to it.
