Question on Tongkat Ali for users

I have a 100:1 Tongkat Ali Extract powder and I’m not sure if it’s the root extract or whole plant including the root. I’ve sent an email to the company I purchased it from and I’m just waiting on a response.

However I was wondering from those of you who use the powder version of TA Root Extract; what does it taste like?

My powder (dissolved in boiling water) tastes like absolute shit and makes me want to cry. It’s quite possibly the most horrid thing I force myself to consume.

The Tonkat root extract pills I take are extremely bitter. I also read somewhere that all Tonkat root extract should be bitter. If it’s not, it’s probably not Tonkat.

Can you post the link to where you purchased the powder from?

I got a reply late yesterday afternoon and the manufacturer only uses the root. Apparently this company will be selling a higher strength version in a few months.

If it tastes bad, then you’ve got a nice TA powder. You can buy empty capsules from CVS and load then up to make for easy swallow.

It tastes so fucking bitter it makes black coffee look sweet but I’m developing an acquired taste for it. The powder smells as bad as it tastes and has a faded brown colour to it. I noticed a big difference today in the gym since increasing the dose, I don’t seem to suffer from lactic acid buildup as bad as I used to and I can push harder for longer.
