I think it’s a good idea to cycle any supplements you take.

The question was whether or not to take a break from arginine supplementation, whether ‘tis better by far to take it day in and day out or suspend its ingestion for a period to let the body assess it’s merit then resume forthwith.

Newbie here….as a supplement freak I learned it is wise to cycle any free-form amino acid. one month on, two wks minimum off or something like that. six weeks on, two off…maybe even six and six….find this info specifically for arginine and there’s your answer. treat aminos like you’d treat a hormone effecting supp ie andros etc. i pretty much avoid free form aminos except for L-Glutamine; great for muscles after working out.

And the reason for that would be ?

Is it because the body shuts down its own way of manufacturing it? I’ve pondered this issue for a while now, what happens when you stop taking L-Arginine after a long period ?
