Using Retin A on glans?

Using Retin A on glans?

Has anyone tried using Retin A on the glans to remove discolouration, is it safe to use on such a sensitive part of the body?

The skin on the glans is much more tender than the foreskin. and bearing in mind it does cause a burning sensation when used on the face for acne. I would think it is not a good item to use there.

What type of discolouration do you have there?

Hey petitfaun,

The discolouration is a small light brown patch (sort of like a bruise) on top of the glans, with red patches and small red dots around the glans.

I have been using Retin A on the foreskin and have’nt experienced any burning just redness and light peeling. That might be because its only 0.025% tretinoin.
Im thinking of trying a small area first to see what happens hopefully all will be fine

If this has happend since doing PE then you have been overdoing it with the pressure and pulling. So it is best to let it alone for a while. Maybe a rest from PE will clear it. and it would be inadvisable to use us on bruised and exposed red patches.

If it has been there a long time then all I can suggest is; if you proceed. Do it with caution.

Hey petitfaun,

I think you have misunderstood me. The glans does not have bruises on it, I was trying to describe what the small brown patch of discolouration looked like.
As for the red patches I think they are left from the broken capillaries I caused from improper PE and overdoing it, and yes they have been their for some time.

You mentioned that it is inadvisable for use on red patches, isn’t Retin A used for diminishing red skin which can occur through acne, because that is why my dermatologist prescribed it to me?

Today I tried the Retin A on my nipple(lol) as that is quite a sensitive area and I have not had any reaction. I am going to keep applying it for a few days and see what happens. If all is well I’m going to try it on a small area on the glans and as you mentioned I will definatley proceed with caution.

Thanks for your advice.
