Will this Ginkgo work?

I recently bought Ginkgo Biloba tablets from CVS. On the back, it has the 24% extract number, but not the 6% Terpene Lactones. Will these still be effective or am I wasting my time?

I went through a full bottle fo the Ginko Biloba without the 6% ingredient. I did not feel a thing. However I still have not tryed the standardized extract with both ingredients.

Effective in doing what?

When CVS was longs the store brand had the 24/6% ratio it worked great at making big boners. I am taking the CVS brand now.

It is hard to find the 24/6% but you can get it at Walmart the brand is ginkoba. I have a bottle in my car I should be using that up first.

Are you taking the CVS brand that has or doesn’t have the 6%, and how is it working?

R Dopa, effective in its known benefits such as increased blood flow and better EQ.

The PharmAassure (house brand) from RiteAid has the 24/6 ratio.

It works for me to reverse the sexual side effects of SSRIs. I use the Swanson Vitamins brand.

That’s what I plan on doing- today has been my first day and I have a 30 day supply. My individual results don’t really mean much though, I was hoping somebody would have a “scientific” answer for whether these tablets without the 6% are as potent as the ones that do contain the 6% (or if they even have the 6% even though they don’t say so since it DOES have the 24%)

Hmm, interesting. This thread kind of makes me want to get more. If one guy liked the CVS stuff it’s worth a shot. I can say that the Spring Valley stuff is a waste though, at least for me. I went through a 300 tablet bottle with nothing.

The bottle I have is 60 Mg per capsule, and they recommend 2 caps at a time. However, I read someplace else that 180 Mg is recommended for any sort of genital reaction.

So, anyone, what sort of dosage is recommended here on Thunders Wickedpenipedia, and should the dosage be spread out over the course of the day (e.g., every 8 hours or so), or taken all at once?

I took the full 180 Mg dose yesterday, and noticed a very nice unannounced squirming in my boxers a couple of hours later as I was shopping for software. (I think there’s a joke in there someplace).

Anyway, erections are magically appearing, spontaneously, just like in Junior High School, riding on the bus.

My experience with Ginkgo has been less then stellar. I tried maybe 5-6 different brands. I think NOW brand I felt something a short while after taking. Sadly that something, whatever it was, did nothing for erection enhancement.

Alex, I believe most of the studies done on Ginkgo were done by a company in Germany that manufactures a specific brand. Other companies jumped on the bandwagon and duplicated or did their best to their formula.
Before that, I suspect Gong was taken as a whole herb. I suspect one would need to take a bit more than a standardized product to get the 24/6 ration, if that even the important factors?

Others, like Jafar, have experienced sexual benefits from using. There is a study or 2 that it does reverse SSRI induced impotence or erection problems in general caused by the use of them. Still other, not on medications have reported erection enhancement from it’s use. Again, if I had any enhancement, I didn’t notice it!

All you or anyone can do is to take and find out if it works for them.

This is only partially true. The only positive results came from unblinded, open label trials, which are essentially useless due to having no placebo weighting. Later investigation with double and triple blinded trials found no effect on any sexual parameters. I’m happy to be proven wrong on this one, but so far I see no evidence for its effectiveness in this respect, as opposed to other supplements that have some clinical evidence backing them.

When you say reverses the sides from SSRIs do you mean erection problems or anorgasmia?

Aorgasmia. I have used both Costco’s and Swanson Vitamins’ brands and they both work.

Another one that works even better is mucuna pruriens. I buy that from Swanson Vitamins.
