Metrosexual. I am Are you

I’m probably somewhere in the middle here. I have some “metrosexual tendencies”, but I’m not sure if they’re enough to earn the title.

I probably qualify as metrosexual and believe most my friends does so too. We get all the chicks, the bearded ones with supermarket jeans wont get laid :)

I am about 185 cm, 78 kg
Brown hair with my favorite wax (lanza urban elements)
No facial hair, whitened teeth
I get my eyebrows picked sometimes, by GF or female friend.
About 50/50 male/female friends
I respect women and must have the latest gadgets (Nokia N85 is my beloved phone/mp3-player)
Clothing is quite mixed but brand used are Lacoste, Fred Perry, Lyle & Scott, DSquared, Hugo Boss, G-star, Diesel, Pepe-jeans and such..

Very unperfected nails though…I bite. :/
I enjoy wine and to cook. I am not so much into sports but follows ice hockey- and soccer championships.
My most “masculine” interest would be cars. I am into german cars and getting a BMW 5 Alpina-series in a few weeks :) )

I do consider myself straight..not even bi-sexual. But the thought of an MMF threesome isnt repelling.

Does it count if you only pluck the middle of your eyebrows to prevent the unibrow?

Come on now. I just check the poll and over half you guys say your a manly man. I guess the idea of public stereotype of fem is still floating around the idea of being metro-sexual.

I think that’s because most of us fit in the middle so we choose the manly man and because we didn’t read your definitition of metro sexual only went by the public perception of what metro sexual is.

No facial hair (tried the lower lip fuzz, too itchy)

Aw, crap, I didn’t read the whole post before I voted, missed the “mordern meterosexual man”-part. I thought that part was just simply “modern man”. Not “modern meterosexual” :)

Quit labelling yourself. Others keep doing it so why do it to yourself?

I just wanted to add some stuff on this thread to make it more interesting. Well the definition of a metrosexual is quite uncertain, because as every style, the metosexual has got a few of his own gradations. The good part is, how 90% of us know how to define a metosexual. This was a very short version - description I found on the net:

Metrosexual is a term to describe a male who spends a lot of time and money on his appearance and lifestyle. Taken to the extreme, a metrosexual is often viewed as narcissistic and overly self-indulgent on his looks.

But that does not mean all metrosexual are like that, and that this is the main point of being one of them. In the start of the metrosexual style, some man - most “macho” started to criticize metrosexual males, and there was a talk about how metrosexual are acutally gay. That is very stupid, in my opinion. The theory was, that a male who spends a lot of time on his good looks and clothing is instantly gay? In some lands it’s still like that, most metrosexual are criticized by other males and are defined not manly enough, what is total bullshit! Well the good part is that we all have taste, which varies so there is always going to be good and bad opinions on life styles.

I am going to add a few pic for you guys to visualize the style:

1. I don’t know about you, but in my opinion it’s overdoing (the guy looks like a princes)

2. In my opinion, a normally good dressed guy

3. I don’t remember, but it was from a movie. A comedy, well here you can see how some people overdo things terribly! Ahh and trust me, I saw guys in real life who dress like that.

4. And 5. I shot two or my own pictures, before I was going out. 99% of my friends and people who I know call me a metrosexual, not only on my cloth style but on the full “life style”. Which I disagree, but never mind that part.

NOTE: on the gay part in the upper text, I didn’t mean any thing bad about gay people! Comments on the text and picture’s are wanted, give my all of your opinions :D

You dress more Urban rather then metro. I would say metro is more like picture 2.

Picture one - Definitely is high fashion european.
Picture three- public’s eye of a metrosexual.

Totally Metro here. Not that I fit most of those stereotypes you said, but I still have a few things I definitely qualify with haha.

I don’t leave the house without making sure I look good.
I only buy expensive clothes
I usually look better than the girl/guy I’m with.
I don’t fit in in my town because most people here are hicks who stink and dress bad and smoke all the time :s
I always keep my face cleen… not shaven, but scruffy and kept good though.
I always do my hair up perfectly.
I sometimes wear a Tie just cause :P

I dunno… I’m sure there’s a lot of things people would add, but I can’t think of them. My friedns could definitely add to this list lol

Oh. The dude in #2. I’m pretty sure I’m wearing that EXACT outfit right now lol. I’m not wearing my jacket right now though, and it’s black, and the scarf I was wearing early is red, but still. I also am wearing girl jeans like that dude too haha.

metrosexual is so 2005. lol no one cares anymore. also there is a difference between groomed/well dressed and metrosexual…

in a lot of ways “tool” has replaced metrosexual.

I’m some where between rural and urban, hehehe. Really more like somewhere between metro and macho.
