There is medication that prevents HIV infection (called Post Exposure Prophylaxis), but you must start it within the first few days. From your description of what happened, your doctor probably won’t recommend it, but its best to get their opinion. Most other STIs are easily treated. Some can show up in a blood test, some you just have to wait for symptoms which can take days, weeks, or months to show.

With sex partners, the safe assumption is that if they are fucking you, and taking risks with you, they are fucking other people and taking the same risks. Alright guys, so I called a place to order that 8-panel test. I can’t take it today since I’ll have to go to an office in a neighboring city, which is closed right now. I told the lady what happened and she said that anything that happened last night wouldn’t show up in the test, and that it’s better to wait 2 weeks before testing if I wanted results from that specific situation.

However, I already paid for the test, and I can take one tomorrow, then take another one in 2~6 weeks. If I took it tomorrow, from what I understand, it would only give me results for anything I have previously been infected with, which I believe is nothing.

Should I take one now and another in a couple of weeks, or should I just wait 2 weeks and then take one? I’m not overly concerned with the loss of money right now.

Yeah, I’ve had STD tests for ailments several times even if the chance was close to null. Never paid a penny.

Yeah, I guess I should have thought of that first. What if I go to the free clinic tomorrow, and then take the other test in 2 weeks? When things like this happen my mind gets wacked out a bit. I’ll go bright and early tomorrow morning.

The thing I don’t like about the free clinic is that they are entirely too slow. Extremely slow and the staff act as if we are not worth their time, except the doctor, who was nice. I hate that place actually. But I’ll go tomorrow morning. Thanks for that suggestion.

I mean you go to a doc to talk about what you can do to increase the chances of not getting infected.
Something harmfull in your blood or body doesnt mean you are know diseased.
The body is able to fight it off. The test itself does nothing and you have to wait 2 weeks to get good results..
So you have to power your body to lessen the possibility of an infection.

Yes, I get your point. Unfortunately, I don’t have health insurance right now, so I can’t go to a doctor. I am healthy in general though, I exercise very frequently, consume smoothies, go for walks, even took up jumping on a trampoline, which has phenomenal health benefits, so my immune system should be extremely powerful.
