Anal - Post Butt Surgery?

Hi All,

My wife just finished with a hemorrhoidectomy and fissurectomy. I’ve never plowed the back forty, as she had the hemorrhoids for all the time we’ve been together.

Has anyone else had a spouse or significant other go through this, and had her be comfortable with Anal at some point afterwards?

I’m not looking for next week (I’ve waited 19 years so far, so it’s not a big rush), but would like to know medically if it’s in the cards for the future. The last thing I’d want to do is open up another fissure.

Hopefully Avocet8 will have some good input on this, or can check on it for me. I’m going in to the Surgeon with her for a 2 week follow up pretty soon, and am not real comfortable asking him this in front of the wife (If I get a chance to ask him alone, it would be easier though).

The gentler (and more pleasurable) the experience is for her, the more she is likely to let you do it again, but you knew that.

As you might imagine, finding information concerning the permissibility of anal sex after hemorrhoidectomy is rather difficult. I have no personal experience nor do I know anyone who has had the surgery.

On the Internet I found a study of disease transmission via anal intercourse which excluded test subjects who had had a hemorrhoidectomy within 6 months. So they were apparently saying if a subject had the surgery more than six months ago and was again having anal intercourse, they would be allowed to participate.

Most surgeons do not consider anal sex per se as a cause of hemorrhoids, although some say the trauma sometimes associated with it (too much too fast?) might encourage the development of them. Anal fissures seem more directly related to back door intercourse, however.

If she’s willing to let you do it my suggestion would be to give her at least four to six months to heal, then start with toys or fingers to get her used to the feeling and work up through increasing sizes of dildos. See this and this for other suggestions.

Thanks for the input on this. My assumption is the surgeon would probably have his own personal agenda on this, besides what is medically sound. That’s why I thought I’d ask here first.

Like I said previously, I’ve waited all this time, so waiting another 6 months to a year to start exploring this area is not an issue.

Just an update. Went to see the surgeon for a followup this past week. He did a visual and wasn’t going to do any probe type exam for another 6 weeks. I put off asking him until then. It will give me a chance for more research.

My friend has been avoiding the surgery (I would, too) so no first account info there. He was told minimum of 2 mos. for healing post-op. I’d guess more but depending on the size of the unit trying to gain access.

Let us know if you learn anything. This subject will come up again, so to speak. Our friend RWG is always waiting for his card to be flipped. We cheer him on knowing how much fun he thinks anal sex is. I hope you get your wish, too.

You absolutly rock avocet8 as does Westla!! There is no doubt in my mind how much fun it is… That one turnip truck I fell off gave me such a ride that I will climb aboard again someday. As soon as it is slow enough for me to jump…

So, tell us, RWG. What is it about anal sex for you that makes it so wonderful?

I think for me a large part of it is the increased tactile stimulation on my chest, stomach and thighs. My ex-wife admitted she sort of enjoyed it, sometimes, and a few times even encouraged it. But not often because she did not ever have orgasms from anal. I had to get her off simultaneously manually; not so good for her as vaginal penetration.

Update on the post surgery.

The doctor checked it out today, inside and out, and thinks it looks real good. In 3 to 5 months the scar tissue will soften up, and things will return to “normal”.

I still haven’t asked him about anal intercourse, but will see him in a couple of weeks and will try to ask him when the wife is not around. I’ll keep the post updated

If you call the doctor’s office a couple days ahead of your appointment and leave a message that you yourself would like just a few minutes of his time privately with him when you both go in, he will discretely arrange that.
