Anyone here have HPV?

Cause I think I might have it. After getting involved with this new girl which I’m still kinda seeing (not screwing for right now). I’m not gonna get into specifics about how it looks right now, only that I researched online, and even though I thought genital herpes at first, I now think probably HPV. I will try to describe it more fully tommorow, and maybe take some pics of it with my phone to show. I’m gonna try to schedule an appointment with my doctor also tommorow, but knowing Kaiser, It’ll probably be a while before I get to see him.

For anyone that has it or that maybe hasn’t had warts in a while, i’d be curious to know how it affects your life, how often you get it, etc. I also heard that there’s a vaccine for women called Gardisil or something for HPV. Is this basically useless once you already have it? Because I know that they’re working on a vaccine for men for this thing. Any input, as always, is appreciated.

Oh and I almost forgot to add the location…Not on the penis at all, but like 1 or 2 inches up from it on the skin.

If it is, you can control it with Lysine.. Arginine will aggravate it somewhat - It’s not the end of the world, but you must be honest and upfront with the people you intend to sleep with.

In 90% of cases the body’s immune system will clear the infection within two years or so. Most people with HPV never develop symptoms and thusly don’t even know they have it or pass it onto a partner.

I don’t think there is an all-purpose test for HPV, men and women alike. Only one is available that come into action when women are screened for cervical cancer as far as I know.

Lazy Wally’s info is correct, as far as I know. Some sources suggest that a large majority of sexually active adults carry one or more strains of sexually transmitted HPV, though few ever show symptoms.

What does it show.

From the picture, which was kinda hard to make out, it looks like it might possibly be Molloscum Contagiosum. That’s a pretty common area to get it in as well. I had a run-in with that myself at one point. It’s a pretty minor STD, but inconvenient none the less. Very few people know about it actually.

If it’s painless, it’s not herpes. If it looks sort of like a pimple, possibly including a white head, it’s probably Molloscum. Make an appointment with a urologist regardless.

It looks like an ingrown hair to me, but the photo is rather blurry.. If in doubt, GO SEE A DOCTOR!

Looks like what you get from shaving that region, I know it happens to me.
